Default I'm Seriously Contemplating Moving To The USA

Figured i should post something "origional"

What im thinking is after the end of the summer season here in Blackpool (which is busy and fun) im gonna move there. Not sure where exactly, but i know ill land in MN and go visit our lovely forum admin bloke. From there its a case of finding a job, and accomodation.

Obviously I would want to travel round a bit, so id definatly go down to LA, LV, and NYC, any maybe Chicago (preferably when the Braves are there). Everyone on here is more than welcome to arrnange visitions from your favourite welsh person! (me, jsut incase)

So, what i was wondering is.....

Does anyone know what Id need in order to do this?

I know i need a passport, duh. I know i need a bit of money saved before i come.

Job wise, i can always look when i get there, ill have my croupier license sorted by then so casino work would be fun. Im awesome running a bar, im british too so that shud help. Id do anything as long as its fun...

Do i need a VISA, or insurance, or what?

    Anyone know?

    If so, let me know!

Post links if they are helpful, or advice, or anything.

Default Getting this thread back on track with real advice for Eejit

Eejit- I talked to my friend who lives in Plymouth and was an Au Pair in America for a while about emigrating to the US, and he told me there were four ways to go about it:

    1. Be highly educated and basically say you'll be very useful to the US if you emigrate here.

    2. Get a job in the US before entering and have your company sponsor you, ie. endorse your application for a visa

    3. Start a business in the US

    or

    4. Marry an American

I hope this is somewhat helpful for you.

    Very helpful thanks.

I woke up cos a car decided to crash outside my house. Nice of them, selfish people, crashing while people are asleep.

Ive decided to Marry an American.

    Heres my options -

    NDN - Marry me?
GloBug - Get a divorce and marry me?
    Lori - Same as GloBug.
Navtua - Sorry, your not American.
CaliGirl - Meh, i could wake up next to ya every morning
Sassy - No idea if ur nice, but u said im cute so im easy!
Tay - I cant rbing myself to even attempt to spoil what u and klink have.
Anyone else - For Double Stuff Oreos im yours.

Ok, back to sleep, and posibly the insanity ward, for me

I've been thinking and doing a little math and I have figured that.....Sure you woke up! What, did you only sleep for 10 minutes 20 minutes might be pushing it? lol You were practically in the (REM) stage of sleep already. Not..... However, FYI Waking during this stage (REM) should enable you to clearly remember any vivid or lucid dreaming that you may have experienced.

And why do I never come in first ever.... not in Ringo's trivia, not in Chat Box trivia, not here, or there, and not on your Marry me list.....Gawd

I might be mistaken but i know for a fact that in the US you have to claim your winnings on gambling, lotto and poker annd all that on your taxes. I remember reading that the guy who won the first survivor, richard hatch, never put his winnings on his tax income statement or whatever, and def got nabbed for it. But i was under the impression that in the UK, your winnings on gambling and poker do no have to be claimed on your teaxes. Maybe you could help me out with that one if i am mistaken. But hell, Id take 20-30% of my winnings back for a little bit of rain, and some craazy blokes and mates and all that pip pop cherrio stuff. But really though if I am mistaken please tell me, because I had asdpirations to move to where YOU are and get out of this god foresaken nation-state that is called teh united states of america. If i am wrong, i think ill just save my money and then go move to new zealand and never play poker again. But if im wrong about the UK and not having to claim your poker winnings please holla, cause everything ive looked up and all teh blokes i talked to said that i would not.

    - Tay - yw

    - Lori - You are number 1, itd just be too obvious if i kept putting ya att he top. Gotta mix it up

I wish we didn't have to pay taxes on our winnings. I guess we just have to pay to play.

lol I feel kind of sorry for Lori's husband in all of this! I'll leave everything up to eejit and Lori though- if they want to get married, that sounds good to me. And I agree with Sue, eejit would definitely be a positive addition to this country (although I personally would love to live in England, lol).
