    Thanks.

I'm just trying to distract myself for a bit now.

    It's working so far.

    Hopefully I will feel better.

I just need to watch some tv, play some poker.

And the eat some ice cream to make mind off of it.

And I'll check it out on google earth for sure.

unfortunately holdem is not just a game of cards, or luck, or position, or anything by itself...its a mixture of a ton of different variables, combined with what you have and what you think your opponent has, as well as the texture of the flop...so there is no TRUE and PROPER way to play ANY HAND in holdem, even AA.

    MOST SITUATIONS:
I'll take a flop with jacks, regardless if i raise, or smooth call/limp. 99/TT/JJ are hands that you need to read the texture of the flop as well as put your opponent on a range, if you're not careful you WILL get beat with these hands...you might think this sounds strange, but i like these hands because i feel that they are very "black and white"... meaning, theres no grey with these hands, you either flop something nice with them(all unders) or overs come and you can easily let JJ/TT/99 go...alot of times I will find myself in drawing situations in which case i read the texture of my draw and the amount my opponent bets according to the strength of my hand, and odds of winning the hand based on pot odds.

obviously if in a tourney and short stacked im shoving with anything better than 55 most times, so yes JJ is getting it ALLIN BABY!!! I'll also call an allin with JJ if im big stacked and shoved on by a short stack.

Normally in a full table, pocket jacks aren't going to be worth raising with, since anyone could easily raise you, and put you all in, which might not be worth gambling.

I think it's better if you see the flop with jacks by just calling instead of betting, as your bet won't necessarily make someone with say, A-K, A-Q, and so on fold trying to pick up a pair.
Same goes for smaller pairs for me, if you get lucky once in a while and catch trips, you could bust someone who thinks he has the best hand.

I try and avoid going all in with 50/50 odds. Anyways, if you play your hands well, you probably wouldn't need to make a move for survival until you're already in the money.
