    Believe it or not, a death sentence is about 7 times more expensive to carry out than a life sentence.

    Eh, the people who came up with that number messed with things to get it. They included every death row appeal but no appeals for the life, and generally found costs for death but only included basics for life inmates etc.

    Probably so, but still more expensive given appeals, etc. And this is the American justice system, so that aspect of it isn't gonna change.

    nah i think if someone serves a life sentence from say 20 yrs old then he will cost more. most criminals that are lifers are in there 20's now adays. i say kill all the murderers and molester and rapist. everyone else can rot in hell.
