The question I'm looking to get answered is should I have raised the typical 4x the bb or is the play I made a profitable one in the long run. I know that I should of won based on the odds but I also know the the low end of the odds has to get there once in a while. I'm curious if people think that particular play is first a good play to make. Second part is if that play will be profitable in the long run or am I inviting multiple calls by limp reraising preflop.

I am gonna step in your shoes at this moment in your tournament, and give you some insight into my thinking. In my style of near cashing play, the limp was perfect. You were in a early position i believe, so with my style(very conservative near cashes) I dont think the 4x raise would of been wise. People out there will go nuts over AQ,AJ, even A10, all hands that could of fairly easily screwed ya. If the fellow still would of pushed all in i will fold(for the sake of cashing). Now if he had of reraised say 4x or 6x the big blind, i would of called, and seen the flop, which at that point would of been a easy fold, considering the AQ came.

I noticed that there were also 2 callers of 1,700somethin. At this point i would of just flat called to see a Ace did in fact come, if it didnt im pushing. On your second part question yes, in your situation you did great limping, but that is the conservative view. If your agressive then play your game, but the chance to cash at this point would of called for a more conservavtive approach, but thats just me.

Agreed with Panam...I call the raises to see the flop and push if no ace.

As played is perfect. You extraced a bigger pot than you would have otherwise, and got it in as a huge favourite, with your stack and as played, this is perfect
