I think 2 years is lenient. The fact that it was himself that he shot doesn't affect my opinion. He recklessly discharged a dangerous weapon in a public place where others could have been injured or killed. A more aggressive prosecutor might have resulted in him doing even more time.

I feel 2 years was a extremely harsh penalty. He shot homself costing himself millions of dollars. Stallworth kills someone while drinking and driveing and gets 60 days. How is shooting yourself which I do thing is quite ignorant deserve a more harsh penalty then killing someone?

I agree. Stallworth should have gotten a much longer penalty too. But that shouldn't have any effect on Plaxico's sentence.

normally I might agree, however I think this is way to harsh.First people know these guys, stalkers, etc. They get robbed alot,as they carry alot cash and jewlery.I for one believe all americans should OWN alot firearms,as it is our right.Discharging the gun in public was bad but as stated he has already been punished. My tip of the day, don't try to rob me.

I have a lot of friends who carry. None of them, at least as far as I know, has ever accidentally discharged their weapon. My understanding is that it is fairly hard to do if you follow normal safety precautions. This leads me to believe he either never learned the proper way to carry and handle the weapon or just ignored what he had learned. Either way I find his behavior to be reckless and dangerous.

I totally agree the guy is stupid.however as I have been in court seen judges slap guys on the wrist. This guy has already paid a huge price, bigger than most.Stupidity is not a crime as far as I know, or I would have life by now.

Not the same thing at all. This is more like if you drive recklessly and only injure yourself. You are still guilty of reckless driving.

Well as someone who has spent more time in court than he would ever want I can agree about the slaps on the wrist. But I still think he got off easy. Maybe it's just my nature. There is a reason why the only legal job I even remotely enjoyed was prosecuting misdemeanors. I wanna lock em all up.

well all i got to say is he got what he deserved, he will only spend like 16 months in jail if that then get out. as for stallworth he didnt hit the guy because he was drunk. the guy ran out in front of him and if he was drunk or not the guy was toast. i think stallworth got off a bit but i dont think he intentioally tried to hit him. you guys should look at the stallworth interview on E:60. will make u think alot differently on his sentencing. the guys family got paid when he jumped out in front of the car. ther was no intent and thats why he got what he got. yes he was drunk but he wasnt driving fast or none of that. he was going the speed limit and not driving reckless. well that my feelings on all of this.
