Default What do you listen to while playing Poker?

Well, post whatever band/album you're listening to during your latest tournament!

I've currently got The Cure - Greatest Hits turning.

Currently listening to A Perfect Circle...I didn't have Lennon's version of Imagine, so I settled for the better version.

As far as what i listen to when i play poker, its definately classical music. Usually some string quartet or something, none of them fat man bellowing in front of an orchestra crap. LOL. But seriously, I find that listening to classical music when i play makes me more patient, and thoughful of my actions. Breaks seem to come much faster, and being card dead, is just a bump in the road. When you listen to pieces of music that are 20-30 60 minutes long its a lot easier to maintain focus. If its not classical then its one fo the following; Rage against the machin, RHCP, Beatles, Zepplin, or some brother ali or immortal technique (talk about underground). But if youre playing a long tournement, stick with long classical pieces of music, i promise you your play will improve.

I might have to try that,I usually listen ratt, motley crue, ac/dc ect ect 80s hair bands, so maybe some light fluffy music might help.

Immortal Technique played in the student union @ UMD a few years ago. I got there too late to get a ticket though. He's definitely talented.

    Erroneous. It is.

I don't see Imagine as some happy song, hell, I see it as a depressing song, and APC's cover captures this perfectly.

Also, all Beatles solo stuff sucks. No exceptions.

Who says it's supposed to be happy? I don't think it is, the point of the song is about imagining a world where those things exist, or could exist, which clearly isn't the world we're living in. Yes there's hope involved (the dreamer part) but it still doesn't try to make light of how things really are. Just laments about how they could be if we tried.

I'll give you that the Beatles were not remotely the same solo as they were as a cohesive unit, but that does not mean their solo stuff sucks. A lot of the stuff on the later albums that many people love (The Beatles, Abbey Road, etc) were mostly done as solo projects anyway, so clearly they're not that terrible when they're on their own.

this is new to me,but it seem to work for some players.i would like to say i would try this and if i was to.rap or reggea would be my choice, but a bit of everything would be nice?
but gettin back to game play on this topic,i think it works.i seen a phew players i play with, music and play alot better, its only some times they hav it to load.or theys start to sing, which i think takes away from the game.but your not tryin to make friends at the tables so the more you fustrate them the better it is for you.so ya i might try it myself too.

I'm a drug induced Beatles fan to begin with, and not in love with most of the newer, post-drug stuff, so take that as you will.

Besides, the best post-huge band from the 1960s solo album is Syd Barret - Madcap Laughs. Stunning album from a mentally unstable genius.
