    Default R.I.P. Michael Jackson

LA times just moments ago annouced Michael Jackson dead at age 50 in the UCLA medical center.
Though Michael had a jaded past, I loved him. The Jackson Five was the
first album I ever bought in 1972. It warped in the sun on the way home and my dad bought me a new one.
    Rest in peace Michael

I just wonder if his legacy will be as great as Lennon's, despite Lennon's death being much more tragic, IMO. It is interesting to wonder if MJ had not been given a public funeral and instead only a vigil like was held for Lennon, if the media hype and frenzy would be as great. I certainly hope that Michael's music and love for the world marks his legacy as it should be, and not the media and their interpretation of him. That would be very sad, and if that happened, I suspect his legacy would not be as great or continue on as long as it should.
well tay i honestly think mj's legacy will be bigger than lennon's. i personally think he has a greater following then lennon has or ever did. i mean the guy had vigils and memorial all over the world.

I stuck to CNN most of the week and they did a pretty good job.

I'm a big fan of Anderson Cooper, Wolf, and even Larry King.

Was the YouTube video on Michael Jackson - The Farewell? I saw Stevie Wonder's performance. Pretty awesome but im still not sure why he has the mustache wrap around, someone should get him some clippers. Maybe this is a little ultra-left politically, but I favor that the media heavily contributed to Michael Jackson's death, and I think it's kind of paradoxical that they are now trying to immortalize him

i guess that is why i missed the bad rap on fox....espn or cnn for me too lately.... i saw the memorial, most of it, i too was thrown under the bus by his daughters tribute.... He worked so hard to keep them from the spotlight while he lived tho..... broke my heart to view her breakdown ...... hope the family can get through the next few months or years of division of his estate and affairs and remain intack....many families can't do it....

    RIP Michael

Boy isn't that the truth, so sad but very true.

Seems like money and possessions get the best of people.

Then it's a great big fight over who get's what.

I guess that is one GOOD thing about being poor and not having

anything, but a bunch of bills. Who's gonna fight over that?

So did Lennon, who continues to have memorials/vigils as well as other museum exhibits and such. I guess we'll just have to give it time and see if it evolves into something as big.
