    Hmmm.

The English Premiership Football (soccer) from last year was awesome. Right down to the wire. So was 1995.

    As for rivalry.

    Man United vs Man City.

    Yankees vs Mets.

    Bosox vs Yankees.

    Name em!

Well I won a lottery and was able to buy SF Giants World Series Tickets and NLCS tickets. I attended games 3,4 and 5 vs the St. Louis Cardinals and we had a 3-2 lead going back to St. Louis for game 6 and 7. We lost 1-0 game
6 and something like 13-2 in game 7. My World Series tickets were refunded.

Best Rivaly was the battle for the AX.
Stanford - Cal games. I went to several of these games and to the
giant bon fires on Stanford campus.

    Default Globug?

    Giant's - A's rivalry is a joke.

Giants - Dodgers rivalry for real.

I attended the last Giants night time double header vs the Dodgers.
It was a Friday night and the fans were rowdy. Game 2 didn't start till
9:30 pm. We sat in the bleachers leaning on the visitors bullpen in left field.
A little Mexican dude 4 rows behind had a bullhorn shouting the entire games
" Hey you Dodger, Go Home ". Then suddenly a whiskey bottle flew overhead and hit Kurt Gibson in left field. All hell broke loose, cops swarmed our area and arrests were made. Several big fights broke out. Man were we drunk.
That was the last time alcohol was allowed after the 6th inning and the following year they moved the bleachers back 50 yards and had a buffer zone.
Of course we were to drunk to drive home at 1:30 am when game 2 ended, so we passed out in the car and when we awoke, we were the last car in the parking lot.
One bad apple ruined Candlestick baseball forever.

wow, your team did so poor your tickets were refunded... thats gotta be really bad. Definately a lot of hockey fans in the joint, what, no USA CCCP rivalry from so many years ago, we beat the russian guys, and we beat communism, HOORAY DEMOCRACY. Im from new england so id have to go with the red sox and yankees or celtics lakers. Some of those old games with bird and johnson man, are incredible. Bird was teh scrappiest player around, i still have a poster of him when hes in air horizontally trying to save a ball out of bounds, its like hes laying on an invisible bed.
other than that i think im younger than most of the peeps here cause this giants a's stuff goes over my head. No tennis fans, nadal fedderer, prolly more of an american thing. being as there have been riots and beatings in soccer, id have to go with the man city man united. The rivalry seems to go further into the stands... ive seen some f'ed up soccer audience fights on youtube. Ill stick to good ol american paint ya face and wear no clothes football.. a lil crazy, but i dont think ill get thrown over the rails for it

Well the 2001 World Series is definately my favorite championship. Yes I am in Arizona and I have been a Diamondbacks fan since their first game (which I was there). Also I have never liked the Yankees. I still get goose bumps every time I see the replay of Luis Gonzalez hitting the game winning single and him jumping up and down. That was great. Before that I grew up a Cincinnati Reds fan and the 1990 World Series was pretty great too. Sweeping the Bash Brothers (Mark McGwire and Jose Canseco) and the rest of the Oakland A's when being such huge underdogs was impressive.
As far as rivalries go, so many to chose from the old Lakers and Celtics of the 80s had some good series.

I remember that well. The A's were heavily favored to win and the Reds swept them. Nice

I think that Nascar sprint cup series has some of the best championship formats out there, and they have one of the hardest longest seasons out there. Yes i know they drive in circles and turn left for the most part, but doing it in 100 degree summer weather in a car that is up to 180 degrees inside, for 500 miles has gotta be one of the toughest feat an athlete could accomplish. Most poeple would probably faint and slam a wall.

Good point Never thought of it that way.
But don't those drivers wear air cooled jumpsuits.
I know I would want one.

Yes they have air cooled jump suits and a few of the guys have upgraded to a newer water cooled jumpsuit but that probably only provides minimal comfort in these cars. just imagine hanging out in your oven turned up to 180 degrees for 3-4 hours with just a water cooled fire suit and a air fan?
