    Default Freerolls are impossible!!!

I was just in a freeroll for a seat in a much larger tournament. I was watching one guy in particular and he went all in with anything almost every time. Well i was dealt KQ suited. He goes all in so I call. I had him pegged... or so i thought. He turns a 53 off-suit. I was right!! Then comes the flop. A 4 2!!! How can anyone play against that... I mean come on. Any suggestions?

This is why i rarely play freerolls, problem is that you are there to get bad beat by a donk who really doesnt care if he loses or wins the freeroll, so, instead of auto-tilting myself, I do prefer to stay away from the well known DONKAMENTS lol as you may also call the freerolls!

OK thanks... i was trying to find an extremely cheap way to get into a bigger tournament since i have a small budget. I read your strategy on the 10 dollar bankroll. It helped quite a lot so thank you for that.

the thing about big freerolls is you have lots of people who try to get as much chips as possible in the first 30min and will call anything to get those chips. you made the right call just unlucky. dont sweat it thought cuz rember you didnt lose anything and it was only a freeroll

Yea thanks a lot... ive been on a big luck slump lately.. guess you'll have those though.. does anyone suggest a satellite tournament that has like a $12 buy in and then the top 10 get a seat to a much much larger tournament?.. i've played tournamnets and cash games but never any satellites. What should I expect?

Not much difference at all from regular tournament play but, remember that as EVERYONE who cashes gets basically the same prize, then once you have a good stack no need to play as aggressive as you wont win anything extra for 1st or 5th (this on the example you gave with a 10 seat awarding satellite)
