Turbo SnG Strategy (for Lilred36 :) )

Everyone who has played on PokerStars, or many other sites, knows that in the sit-n-go section, two types of games are offered:


1. A regular sit-n-go.

2. A turbo sit-n-go.


Overall, depending on the playing style, a sit-n-go that suits your strategy must be known before "register now" is clicked. If you like to sit back and play non aggressive poker, then turbo sit-n-goes are not for you.

In the end, ask yourself: do I like to see a lot of action? Can I bluff effectively and in situations, appropriately? Many elements must be hindered before one totally commits themselves to the turbo tables.

Turbo sit-n-go: Blinds increase at a speedy pace, thus shortening the time a game takes and increasing the amount of hands are dealt.

Turbo SnGs require strict strategy and patience. In the beginning of the game, wait on hands. Blinds are not worth stealing at this point.

Face the fact: would you raise from the button with rag to risk 100 when all you win is 30? That’s not smart mathematics and will most of the times cause you to go bust or to gamble very early due to shortstack.

By having patience, I am not telling one to just sit around and wait for a monster. Go out and test the water. This is the only way to really get a feel for the other players at the table. Develop a tight table image, but don’t be too tight that when you make a raise from bad position, others will place a strict range of hands upon you as a way to bring more action to your side.

This is a turbo, no one will wait on you. In the early stages, yes play tight and wait to double up on specific points, but later in the game one must make moves.
