    WOW,

I'm going to try to temper this reply so I don't get in trouble. First and foremost, why do you play cash game? Is it for a quick score or is it to be profitable in the long run?

Now, on to the hand. (You are not going to like this one bit.)

I don't mind the open raise UTG with A9 suited, but it isn't a play I would make very often. UTG+1 calls and UTG+2 pops it to 5x your raise. That is about all I can say that is positive. You call the raise, which confuses me to death. Not sure why you commit that money with just A9 suited, but you did.

The flop comes ok for you, but you missed a HUGE hint to how far you were behind. When he pushes for 5x the pot, what were you thinking? Was it a call because you were up on your other tables? Was it a call because you thought you had the odds? Was it a call because you didn't know what to do? Was call because you thought you were ahead? I'm sorry, I can't be nice, WTF were you thinking making that call?

You are committing your ENTIRE stack on a 33% chance you MIGHT hit a club on one of the next 2 streets. That doesn't include any thought on what might hit that will still leave you second best.

Now, based on your post, I'm going to assume you called because you were ahead on your other two tables.

You made the call for the WORST possible reason there is. You obviously didn't consider what he could have vs what you have because I can see no reason to call that huge of an over push. The whole point of playing cash game is to have many small cashes over a long period of time. When comparing cash game players, you don't look at VP$IP, PFR, AF or any other stat. You look solely at BB/100 or BB/hour.

Here is my final piece of advise. Don't expect to make any money from cash game with your current methods.

I play cash game b/c I do not have time for long mtt and I get bored with low limit sit-n-go's.

Now why I called the all in.

    - My read was he had top pair with a Q,J,10...Lets say my read was right I am 51.2% .....I call that all day.

-AM I a PRO........I dont think I am there yet so, I make this call because i thought I was at 51.2%

    - Also sometimes a open push like that is a Strong play with weak cards!!!

Cowboy we are totally different players. I play a lot about feel! You seem to be more stats and odds. To you and some other players it may have been a bad play. AT least I did not call with nothing and hit runner runner or some sick beat.

Last thing I will say is the only reason I been Posting hands is b/c you ***** the other day about the forum not being active!!! well there you go.... I will not post another hand by me.....

    Nutz,

I didn't post my comments to piss you off or to discourage you from posting hands for people to look at. My comments were made the way they were because it appeared that your call was based solely on how you were doing at the other tables. I felt the call was made because "I can afford the to drop the hand because I'm winning else where."

Now, on to the odds vs feel discussion. I have played 7 years of poker, with the last 3 being a serious cash game player. I played for a while by "feel" and wound up being a break even player. I found a few books that dealt more with math and less with "how to" and I've changed styles. Over the last few months I've turned a MINIMUM of $100 profit playing the 25nl game. While the profit isn't huge, I've averaged a 5bb/100 average, which most will tell you is huge. Imagine the profits if I were to maintain that average at $1/$2 NL.

I'm not saying I'm "god" on the cash tables, but I can say if you want to see serious, constant profit, the math way is the way to go. I'm working on learning some other programs to help show the value of ranging players and using odds to make calls. I would be happy to discuss this more with you.

First off, The other guy is a "ritard" for shoving 4 dollars into barely a 1$ pot. Secondly, if he shoves on the flop, i'm still calling there if i'm "freerolling" as you put it, even if I know he has trips. Which he easily could have with the re-raise pre-flop. I can guarantee with a flop like that, if he bets pot on the flop, you call, THEN he shoves on you with one card coming to hit your flush, you are folding....EVERYONE, this is how you get someone off their hand, not like this idiot shoving on the flop 4 dollars into a 1 dollar pot.

I'm not sure why people take such offense to replies/comments/advice.
