I hit my first deer this morning while towing my trailor to the dump.
I was driving 40 mph and saw 2 deer up ahead.
1 deer darted across the road and the second deer was on the other side of a fence. I had slowed to 30 mile an hour and then he jumped the fence and 2 leaps later I hit him.
I wiped out my left side of Ford Explorer. Broke all the plastic and the lights. My quarted panel is bent out and back 1/4 inch and my door clicks when I open it.
I can still drive with no radiator or battery damage.
It was all slow motion I must have hit the deer at 20 mph right in the as*
it was like I hip checked him so the damage was more of a deflection than a full impact. My air bags did not release Thank God.
Word to other drivers, deer are stupid and slow way way down if they are any where near the road.
That deer had a death wish, I couldn't do anything to avoid it.
PS I am finally done moving, the hit deer was my last load.
