O8 pseudo MTT on Cake

So I played the midnight $10+1 at Cake tonight with some winnings from a stake target gave me earlier in the day.

Only 22 joined, unfortunately, but the level is play was surprisingly good considering how few O8 games Cake runs. (and by good, I mean relatively few donks)

I got the final 3 with more than double the chips of the other 2 combined, but after a few hands and by the time the 3rd guy got knocked out, I was up about 18-13/14k in heads up.

Knowing how large a crapshoot is in O8 heads up, especially with large blinds, I decided to chop with the other guy who I'd been talking to for most of the tournament with the understanding that we would trust the loser of all in every hand to transfer the $22 from the difference to the other player, so I wound up winning $77 (from $55/99) for the tourny wheee


I was big chip leader throughout, but after my aces got busted for the only time in the tourny out of 8 tries, I got dealt this right after which was humongous in facilitating my run, and put me over 10k for good:
