    Default Unemployment Benefits

Did you know that big companys have entire departments
dedicated to one function and that is to dispute any and all unemployment claims.
    You heard right.
They will stoop as low as they can to defame you and lie to make you not get your unemployment benefits.
They know what a long hassle it is for people to go through the interview and appeals process that could take 3 months.
They know that alot of people won't bother.
Corparate America is evil and don't ever trust that your employer has your best interests in mind. They don't.

    Protect yourself people.
As soon as you start a new job, keep a file of everything.
Keep track of all missed breaks and lunches.
    Know your employee rights.
Never quit a job. No unemployment.
    Getting fired is better.
I called in on my birthday and said I was getting drunk all day and got fired and won my appeals hearing because the employer had no written history on me. I also won a claim for missed breaks and lunches.

Here's a great story to consider.
A guy asked his boss if he could take monday off work because he was going on a weekend trip.
The boss says no and if he did he would be fired.
He didn't show up and was fired.
During his unemployment hearing it was found that because the employer failed to reprimand this employee for previous missed days, the employee was
    awarded umemployment benefits.
Even though the emploter proved that the employee missed 72 days in that last 12 months.

    Keep records people.
Always file a labor board claim against past employers for missed breaks and lunches as well.
You will win 90 % of the time.
Did you know that if you work more than 5 hours in a day you are entitled to a mandatory lunch break or the employer must pay you an extra hours wage that day.
Even if you sign a waiver, voluntarily skipping lunch, the employer must have you sign a waiver each day you missed lunch.

    Keep records people

I hope this helped a few people.

this is very true. i worked for target and they let me go before the week christmas and tried everything they could stop me from collecting unemployment. i had to fax a lot of stuff to the unemployment office because of this but i got it after about of week of them target disputing it.

after i faxed the unemployment office a copy of my journal i keep of my breaks and how many time i was bother on my unpaid lunches target dropped it real quick as i called target HQ in Minn and told them if they dont quit it i will call the labor board on them for all the times they screwed me out of my 15 min breaks and asking me to work on my unpaid lunch.

after that i was collecting unemployment no problem and still getting it til this day. funny thing is target even send me an extra paycheck i wasnt supposed to get.

so my only advice is to keep track of everything and know your local and state labor laws.

I too had some serious issues arise from claiming unemployment. As some of yall know I wear hearing aids, well I worked at a auto auction when i was 19. I was washing cars and some nitwit on the job decided it would be funny to spray me good with the water hose. My hearing aids broke as a result of this, and even then i continued to work, there unable to hear. On monday nights is the auction, and of course you have to be able to hear and move quickly along after a car is final bidded. I tried one auction, and found I could not hear and I was holding things up, so the next auction comes along the next week, and I asked for the night off, because i wouldnt be able to do the job. The next day I show up for work, still without hearing aids(they cost a small fortune), and they fired me, for not doing the auction.

I filed unemployment, and got the benefits for about 3 months before the auction appealed it, and I had to go to court, still without my hearing aids. I said *** it, theres no way I am going to court not being able to hear to defend my case. They not only flat out lied about why I was fired, they discriminated me, they exspecting me to do something I was unable to do because of my disability. i was finally able to scrap up enough cash, junking, to buy some new hearing aids 6-7 months later, so I could get back to work.

So ya ringo your right, and even small companies like the auction, are shady too.
