Default Any tips for potty training???

I have a two year old son. He sometimes knows when to use the bathroom. He will let us know when to go pee but that is about it. He will never let us know when he does number two and its kinda frustrating when we leave him naked and he goes into his room and all of the sudden its on the ground smeared. We tried treats, candy, etc., for him to sit down on the toilet but all he does is potty. He doesn't understand how to do number two in the toilet.

Any hints or clues on how to accomplish this??? Its also hard because his grandma takes him over the weekend and she refuses to take the toilet that we bought him. I guess she doesn't want to leave him naked and clean the mess if he happens to have an accident. That might be part of the problem.

We are trying to train him because I am tired of buying diapers and we can really save money without buying them.

With pottying try letting him watch you use the bathroom too. That worked out pretty well for me. I just have a hard time with trying to keep him seated on the toilet and poop.

I'd laugh if I were watching you poop too.

Have you tried putting him in regular cloth underwear? They'll be messy to clean if he doesn't use the bathroom but certainly not any messier than what you're already dealing with by having him go around naked and leaving surprises for you. Bad news is that other than encouraging him there's not a whole lot you can do to speed up the process, the good news is that they all get the hang of it before too long.

That is so true, my son is so smart and knows how to unlock the child safety on the refrigerator. If I don't feed my son all I would here all day is, " Dadda, Dadda, I'm hungry!!!" He is just learning words and is a sponge. I can't keep him from talking anymore. Before he started talking I was thinking man wouldn't it be nice for him to start talking and tell us what he wants. My son is non stop jibberish mixed with some words he knows all day til he goes to sleep.
