Default At what point do I give up playing poker?

Ugh. This is why I try to avoid cash games. Because even though I'm better than everyone I'm playing with, people suck out and it costs me more than a tourny buyin would cost.

    Rough dude.

Twice today I've had top pair or higher pocket pair to a 4 cards on the board straights. It's been a rough day, and have lost everything I've touched (NDNPT game excluded, thank god)

I can't even fathom how large a favorite I was when all the chips went into the middle of the pot here after the flop. I had to be 90-95% to at very worst split.

Thats pretty much spells out why I completely quit playing cash money poker until im a billionaire, which means never. I refuse to play cash, because of hands like the one above. Sorry to hear you had such a bad outing in cash, but ya if your serious about quitting cash, it isnt so bad plus youll have more to play tournament and itll take longer to lose it till you get that next big cash.

And then you remember why you play:

In a $7.5 300 chip super turbo matrix, I was dealt 99 once, TT twice (in a row) JJ once, QQ twice, AA three times, AK twice, AJ five times, AT 2 times

I finished 1st/2nd/3rd/5th and won the Matrix by over 10 points. I would have cashed all four by A9 busted my AJ.

At one point I was chip lead in 3/4 and in second in the fourth.

    That's why I don't gamble at poker.
    Cash games is a gamble.
Stay cheap and keep it a hobby and you will never have a problem.

Ugh I'm getting so frustrated to the point of giving up on Full Tilt.

I got beat out of THREE SnGs on FTP today on 2 outers on the river. THREE F'IN TIMES. I would have likely cashed in all 3 if I won the hands. 5 freakin' %

The last one was final 4 of a SnG and I pushed with KK to 99 and river 9. Would have put me at 1.75x second place, but instead I was out on bubble.

    Awesome.

To be quite honest, I would quit now. You don't seem to understand variance or the theory of odds. The only hand you can NEVER lose with is a Royal Flush. Every other hand, flop, preflop, turn, and river can be beat. You are going to lose many hands in tournaments and in cash game. If you can't seem to stomach that, then quit playing poker for money. Another thing to consider is how many times did you suck out on someone else? How many of those actually went to showdown so you could verify you sucked out? How many times have you flopped a set against an over pair and won the hand?

I got crushed twice today on 3 outters hitting twice on the river as well. So lets make it 100 times.

I'm not playing MTTs or cash games. Variance means **** to me.

I got sucked out three times in a row on 2 outters. I call bull **** if you are claiming that wouldn't frustrate you. Stop trying to take a moral high ground when you know damn well you'd be pissed to.

I know full well it's supposed to "even out" in the long run. I don't need you to state the obvious. That doesn't take the sting out of losing as a heavy favorite multiple times consecutively, especially when it would take weeks for that to even out variance when considering the amount of hands I actually play a day.

I think its close to at least 100,ooo I aint sure no more, but bad beats online happen at least every third hand.Everyone wants to make that big bet on turn or bluff the river like the pros.Look I'VE lost with quad 8s, full houses, flushes, name it.Except straight flush or royal I have lost with it all nature of the game,I have also won with 27 os with AAKKQ on the board, poker is a game,if all ur chips r in the pot your gonna lose alot of those, you will win some.Look Full Tilt is as good as any, man up and push.

I'm not taking the moral high ground, I'm stating the obvious. Suck outs happen every day to every one. You take as many suckouts as you give. You don't always know when you suck out, unless you check EVERY history after EVERY hand. Sure getting sucked out on hurts, but I don't go posting threads about "when do I quit playing poker?" If you can't take the beats, quit playing.

I've been where you are at right now. I can drag a few people in here to state that very fact. Here is your chance to improve at poker, and it has nothing to do with your play at the tables. 90% of poker is in your head. If you can't control your mind, you might not want to continue playing poker. I've come to realize that suckouts will happen, especially online where facing a person isn't a problem.

I will try to find some information for you to read that might help with the mind control stuff, but I can't post here because it links to a different site with affiliate deals. If you want it, send me a PM.

Guess you don't want to improve or take help from anyone else.

    That's fine.

Hope you learn to control you thinking so you don't lose everything you have online.
