So, upon the view i had on the hand, this person was shoving preflop with anything, she showed J3 after an all in preflop a few hands before. I figured that im 72% fromt he pot, getting even money. Whch is +EV.

    Therefore, an insta call.

    I called.

    I lost.

Anyone disagree? Anyone hate this? thoughts plz

The was one of the worst - I lie - It was the worst play I have seen you make eejit101.

There is ZERO reason for you to call off 1,000 chips in the first level of a tournament with blinds at 15/30.

It's irrelevant what you thought your opponent might have had.

KQ is not a strong hand and it is not a hand you can justify donking off 1,000 chips with in that stage of the game.

For those who think the play was a good one - I'm hoping you forgot to read about the actual situation and didn't just compliment the play because KQ was ahead of K6.

Thats why i posted the background of her erraticisms.

And if everyone agreed with you, which i partly hoped for, id know it sucked.

But the purpose of my read and the call was to be in this kinda sitation, i hoped for KQ vs KJ, and got better.

    The beat isnt the point.

I knew i was good. I KNEW it.

You can't justify this call at that stage of the game. I'm not sure why you can't see that.

Ok, new way of looking at it.

I'm looking at this in the exact situation it occurred. In that situation, it was 100% wrong.

ok eejit is a 70% favorite to win this hand. so 7 out of 10 times he wins 910 to bring his chip stack to 5820. and 3 out of 10 times he is left with 4000. i take that all day!!!!! i do not see why this is a extremely bad play here.

so eejit loses this hand....the donkey now has 1820 and lets say the donkey doubles that to 3640. now eejit has a read and can potentially take out this donk that he kept alive but now its wroth more chips now.....

i make that move all day

Blinds when me and target busted - 150/300.

    Was down to 1300 chips.

shoves A9 with a limp, limper has QQ, I hit straight. Lucky me.

    Make a steal with blinds.

3 limps, i queeze AT, someone has QQ again.

    Question -

In 104 hands. I got dealt the following. (Ive checked)

AKd one (preflop raise and win)
A10 twice (one fold, one bust)
    A9 once (doubled vs QQ)
    77 once (preflop steal)
    22 once
    KQh once (above post)

That KQ hand was the one key hand i got it in as a favourite.

Not a big pot, under 20% of my chips.

    Id love more opinions.

Anyone agree with NDN here? Must be a few people, i can see the logic and thoughts, but we need to remember i read this hand. And was right.

Ive made alot worse reads and been right and its come off awesome.

The poit i do concede is that its 15/30, and its early.

But, its early, its less than 20% of my chips, i read the hand, and if i lose im down to over 4k still. Plus i take out someone who is just annoying.

I had a read to begin with, but thats being pedantic.

This is pretty much my entire thoughts.

If for some reason im only 70% to win, likely, but it was more, then the worst case is ive droped 19% of starting stack, and i have more reads on one person in 4 minutes than ever in my life.

I think what NDN is saying is, why make that call when you have a great stack going with what pretty much amounts to King high? I can understand both arguments, and I would certainly make that call with QK suited, but I dont think I would of took the risk QK off, even if i thought she had 2-4 off. It is really a question of it if your in the right situation to make this type of risk. It didnt hurt ya too bad though, and certainly could of helped ya.

I think both the argument for a call and the one for a fold are both correct. The whole argument boils down to what image you want to maintain at the table. Looking solely at stacks and reads, the call was a good one. If you are looking a bit deeper is it really needed to call to defend the 90 some chips she might pickup in the steal. You are only calling with K high and she could have A2 and be ahead. With her wild style she could have any 2 cards.

She cant have any 2 cards.

From the 2 big hands she played, she was playing them slowly. Small raises and limp.

She was shoving means i was ahead. 100% in my head. Id have bet my life on it.

Joe - I had KQ suited.
