I don't text because I don't have a cell phone. I know, I know, I am the only person in the world without a cell phone. I call them lojack. I refuse to be on call 24-7 for anybody or anything. I laugh at the people who are soooo attatched to their phones, they can't leave home without them. I'm not much of a phone person anyway. I'll meet you at happy hour and talk all you want, but when you get me on the phone, it's like, ok, luv ya, goodbye. Sweet and simple. I try to keep my as stress free as possible and not having a cell phone helps me with that. I have not had a major emergency when I could not use my landline, but in hurricanes, etc. the cell phones don't always work. They are filling up our landfills at a rapid rate. Just think about how many phones people go thru a year, Every time a new phone comes out, people get a new one. It all seems like such a waste. As a matter of a fact, kids in school are so into texting, they are not spelling right and their handwriting skills are gone. My neice, Marissa, 10 years old, just went thru this issue at school. Her teacher is getting upset because she is not trying to write in cursive. Most kids today want to print. Texting is very popular, it's just not for me....
