Who here text messages a lot. I guess in a way I do, but no one like my girl. I took a look at the phone bill and there it was over 5,000 text messages in one month compared to my 1,000. I thought a thousand was a lot but 5k is extremely a lot. Anyone does anyone text message here or can out text my fiancee???

I do use text messages but really only when I need to just convey information efficiently to someone. I rarely send and receive over 200 texts per month. But it can be useful.

Yeah 5k text messages is a lot. It was 5k total for sending and receiving just to reiterate. Still that is quite a lot....

I don't text because I don't have a cell phone. I know, I know, I am the only person in the world without a cell phone. I call them lojack. I refuse to be on call 24-7 for anybody or anything. I laugh at the people who are soooo attatched to their phones, they can't leave home without them. I'm not much of a phone person anyway. I'll meet you at happy hour and talk all you want, but when you get me on the phone, it's like, ok, luv ya, goodbye. Sweet and simple. I try to keep my as stress free as possible and not having a cell phone helps me with that. I have not had a major emergency when I could not use my landline, but in hurricanes, etc. the cell phones don't always work. They are filling up our landfills at a rapid rate. Just think about how many phones people go thru a year, Every time a new phone comes out, people get a new one. It all seems like such a waste. As a matter of a fact, kids in school are so into texting, they are not spelling right and their handwriting skills are gone. My neice, Marissa, 10 years old, just went thru this issue at school. Her teacher is getting upset because she is not trying to write in cursive. Most kids today want to print. Texting is very popular, it's just not for me....
