I've always felt that way really for some reason, even though I'm good at school. And even now that I have a job (although I work at home) I'd still rather do that than go to school I think. I'm not entirely sure why, but I think that for me, working for someone gives me something concrete that I feel like I've accomplished, as opposed to writing a paper or something where I can't really see the benefits of it/there might not be any direct benefit of it ever. It's not an instant gratification thing, I just...like to know that I've made a difference, you know?

And yes, after I've been in the workforce for a while, if by some slim chance I ever DO say that I wish I were back in school, you can say "I told you so".

At the same time, there are a lot of perks to being a college student, like cheaper medicine and doctors visits conveniently on campus. But that's another thing entirely, and not really related to being in school/not being in school.
Mostly because I absolutely LOVE learning. I hate the papers and the studying, but I adore learning. It's something I never though I'd say, but around my last 2 semesters of college, I started to discover...I wish I had gone to class all along. Perhaps it's a sign of maturity, perhaps it's a sign of immaturity (an excuse to avoid working) I don't know, but I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing every weekday than sitting in an economic theory class.

Yeah the learning part is definitely worthwhile, and it's something to strive for and achieve, too. I guess I should get used to school though as I want to teach! I like the school environment, I think, it's just the reasons for being motivated or whatever. But you're right about the learning part.
