    Default My daughter

I just wanted to take this time to publicly announce how proud I am of my beautiful 13 year old daughter Meagan Platt. She is an AB student witch excellent work ethics. She's not ****ty like alot of our teens are becoming now adays and she actually takes alot of grief over being a virgin at 13 Can u believe that. 13 and your not cool if you havnt had sex. What is the world coming too. I have actually seen evidence of the ridicule she takes over being a christian virgin at the age of 13 and it really saddens me that these kids lack the respect for themselves at such an early age. At least we didnt get sex crazy until highschool when I was growing up and then it was up to the girls to tell us boys no and the ones that didnt (unless you dated for a long time) was considered loose or a ho but now they are considered cool and its the norm. Just think of the diseases and early pregnancies that this has got to be causing and we wonder why are country is goiing the way it is. I blame alot on absent parents but also a government that causes two parents to work just to make ends meet when along time ago one worker could support the entire family and the other parent could teach and spend time with the kids a watch their development. It is a sad commentary that we have been reduced to this so that is why I wanted to publcly say how proud I am of my daughter and all she stands for. Of course she's not gonna always be perfect but she has done a great job against alot of peer pressure so far and that deserves alot of credit. I love u meagan and I am the most proud father in the history of fatherhood. You keep up your good work and stay true to your principles and beliefs baby and you'll go far.

Awwww, this post actually brought tears to my eyes. You are right on with the teens today. It's insane. The clothes that are available for the younger set is just wrong. Today they color their hair and this is something we couldn't do until we moved out in my day. Not to even mention all of the piercings and tatoos. Anyways, I am so glad you are proud of your daughter. This post makes me proud of her too. I hope she stays strong around her friends and true to herself for a very long time.

While I'm happy for his daughter and the way he raised her, I fail to see what the deal is with piercings and tattoos? You need to be of age and it's an adult decision.

Wow 13? That is way too young to be ridiculed about that kind of thing, I'm so sorry! Whether or not you believe in waiting to have sex, no one should ridicule someone else just because their beliefs are different! And especially at that age, ugh. Well I know kids especially young teens can be jealous of others so that's probably a lot of it.

Either way, I admire you for being so openly proud of your daughter. I hope she knows you're proud of her too, but the way you talk about her I bet she does. So many parents don't take the time to tell their kids that they're doing a good job or that they are proud of them, they either just assume they "know" or think it's only profitable to tell their children when they need to do better or do something to "improve". Even if we know you're proud of us or that you love us, it's nice to be told periodically, so I hope you've told her. I'm speaking from experience here- it means so much. But thanks for your post, it made me smile. I bet your daughter is a great girl, and I'm proud of her too for being true to who she is. That's what matters in life.

well as proud as you are, and should be, that your child has conformed to a life style that you have promoted to her as the right thing to do. I find the way you talk of other children somewhat sad. Do you not feel compassion for their lack of social skills and lack of christian direction... instead you feel name calling of them is in order...the very thing you didn't like them doing to your daughter...I would like to think that a christian would have more compassion here.

I don't think he's speaking negatively about the other children here, just lamenting about the environment kids are growing up in these days, which I think we can all agree is different than it was when a lot of the older members were growing up.

Kids in the 60s grew up in a decade of free sex and designer psychadelics. Another decade, another problem.

I agree and if i called the children names i meant that in general most children are mean to each other because how hard it is to fit in and things like that so your right and I do have compassion for them and I'm sorry I didn't display that in my post. Thank you for pointing it out and I do believe 99 percent of the time it's their parents fault or just what they've been exposed to and the peer pressure on them. I love all children and would do anything to help any of them so thank you for pointing out my misuse of words and helping send the right message.
