Default Side Games at Poker Sites

I have fallen victim to the side games on a number of different poker sites, specifically blackjack (oooooo...just typing it makes my skin crawl). Now, logically, when I first log on to a poker site it is the farthest thing from my mind. Then while having a nice run at some ring games the inevitable horrible bad beat shows its ugly face and the part of my brain responsible for logic and reasoning just shuts down. My brain now tells me that it is a good idea to buy-in to the blackjack game to win my money back. I'm sure you can guess the rest of my story. I win a few hands, get back what I lost but don't log out. This money has come so easy I might as well keep going. Then with a blink of an eye and anywhere from 10-15 losing hands in a row, my bankroll is gone. I was just wondering if I am the only idiot that has lost their bankrolls from this. What makes it worse is that I don't even deposit into sites anymore. I win freeroll money and turn it into some pretty decent sized bankrolls. So I spend weeks winning a few hundred buck playing poker and then I spend minutes losing it playing blackjack. Man I need to learn my lesson.

I am often a victim of side games too! The only site I find myself playing side games on is Poker.com. To be fair, I actually do quite well on them when I am able to stop (which isn't too often). It's always a matter of being able to stop. I'm usually pretty good at stopping, but if I get into a long session of poker (and losing) for some reason I always hear the call of the side games.

Side games at poker sites have been my biggest down fall for losing my poker bankrolls. I find that when you play Black Jack at most poker sites it will let you win a few then drain you dry. Not always though because they rely on your greed to do all their work for them. I dont know how many times BJ on Absolute Poker has let me go on a big winning streak a few times over $1000.00 even. I may log off and quit then but Im back the next day to lose it. When I used to be an affiliate for CD Poker and I was new at it, I was checking my affiliate earning from players wagering and I saw that I had lost money. So I emailed my affiliate manager there and asked why I lost money. There reply was:

"Players get lucky from time to time on the casino games, But dont worry about it. No one really wins. In the long run they all lose."

After I read that reply I stopped playing the side games on that network.

Well good to see a little behind the scenes conversation RocketMan. I had to say that AP is definitely where I have lost the most money. Great idea for the poker sites to add blackjack and other side games. I'm sure we aren't the only ones to lose our rolls through them, lol.
