Default What the hell is this....

Firstly, the beat isnt bad, well mathematically it is. Its a goldchip game on cake, so we know that i dont give a damn about it

1 - I was bored and wanted blinds, and Q9 is a decent hand to steal with at this stage.

2 - Read wise, this guys last all in was with JT preflop.

3 - My shove here gets him off generally any 2 cards that arent a pair or A4/24.

So, wtf is with the call?

well like u said it was a chips game. i have seen this happen to me many times on there thats y i dont bother stealing or anything until at least 5 players are left in a 10 player sit n go. not sure if u were playing one but that guy had freeroll mentality as you did. not realyl sure wht he called but u did say his last all in was J10 so he was one card off of it. i dont think there is any answer to your questions. its just fools poker thats all.

Ya but on a flop of 5 5 3 to a raise preflop? He isnt beating anything. At least with the JT it was preflop and people could have had anything.

He isnt even beating my bluff, if he read me for bluff. He is behind 67, 24, anything with a gutshot or flush draw or whatever.

And this was an MTT, as it says at the bottom in that i was 55th

    Top 7 won a $163 seat.

That was a typical I dont really care if i win or not type of move i have come to exspect in gold chip and freerolls games. Or like sue said he was prob just tired, bored, or was just gambling far out. Who knows what the dude was really thinking, but if you are extra suspicious, check out the stats on the player to confirm anything maybe having to do with cheating or some kinda super user, insider account type thing. A person like this probably isnt gonna have a losing record if cheating, and may have a really far out winning record if the person isnt careful to cover his/her own butt, but even artificial loses are traceable, so... but anyway in all probability the guy was a snoozer, and bored to death lol.

Would be wise, with a crap hand u had and with the bad flop that u just checked, and folding to anything bigger than 2xBB?
Ok.. his calling was a total donk one, but as u knew he was a donkey, u have to have iven more pacience to get a real trong flop.

hmm. My first question would be what was the buy in, i imagine from what u have said about the prize and the players, its like 12-15 or something like that. You usually dont find too many donks at this stage, unless ur playing stars. U made a good play, i imagine his thought was " i have a 9 a 10 or a diamond redraw, IF he doesnt have a made hand" and even then its still a bogus call. Either blind luck or he could see ur cards. And although i may complain about it, i think itd be rly difficult to do the latter, although i could just be ignorant of it :-/. Horrible way to lose, nutin u can do. Keep grinding!
your definately capable of big wins :-p

I don't think I would bother trying to steal in this situation.
You're putting in 525 to steal 225. If you get raised all-in, then you're priced in to call. If you want to make any sort of continuation bet, you'll have to go all-in (which is exactly what happened).
Your stack size makes this a bad move so I'd just fold here.
Later on, if your M gets lower, you can just push all-in preflop.

Having said that, villain played this hand terribly. If he would've called the raise and then moved all-in on the flop as a stop and go, there's a good chance of you folding a lot of hands that can beat him. But to call the raise and then just check call your all-in regardless of whether he flopped anything or not just seems really dumb.
He really must not have cared about throwing away nearly half his stack on this hand.
    I don't think you'd see this play in a $10+ buyin.

Seeing as it was basically a freeroll, he was playing BINGO. He figured with your preflop raise that the flop missed you as well as him. You bet on the flop, while all in, wasn't close to the size of the pot, which was around 1200 chips. He had you covered and figured if he hit a pair, he wins. I can't say that he is a "big stack" but he made a big stack move and got lucky. If you really wanted to pick up the blinds, why not push preflop. You pickup your 200 chips and get to see more hands.

Then, you should stick to cash games
I can't remember the last time I played a tourney and didn't have to shove preflop on at least a few hands.
