You think hand 3 is a slowplay hand? I could easily have flopped nothing and been bluffing in that spot and there's a lot of hands villain could have that will pay me off. Most people would get suspicious if the preflop raiser checks behind with a flop like that. Then again, this is only a $10 tourney so they are probably not thinking so deeply.
I think eejit is correct with both 2 and 3. You need to slowplay the big flops and watch out for the draws you think might hurt you. On the flopped straight, smooth call the flop bet and then check raise on the turn. You will find more people willing to go broke on the turn, rather than the flop.
