    Default Message For New Members

This message is intended to provide our new members with more information regarding our private poker, blackjack, and slot tournaments and how they can participate in them.

Please read this entire thread (including all of the responses) and I am certain that most (if not all) of your questions will be answered.

    What You Need To Know

    1. Please read your welcome email and private message if you have not done so already. These provide important information and will help answer any questions that you may have. This thread is intended to cover any questions that you might have that have not already been addressed in your welcome email and private message.

    2. If you joined to play in a private event on the day of your registration, it is highly unlikely that you will be able to get in the game. Our private tournaments were created to reward our loyal and active members. With that said, anyone can become an active member quickly and be eligible to join our future private tournaments (we have tournaments daily).

    3. To enter our tournaments, you will need to purchase the passwords directly from our shop using your chips.

    4. Chips are earned by posting in the forum.

    5. You cannot earn chips for posting in the forum UNTIL you have received reputation.

    6. To earn reputation, you must make quality original posts that contribute to the forum.

Here is a little tip. I heard it from a little bird. To post does not mean to perch up on a post or to be stationary, but rather type, type, type good stuff. Strangely it means to keep moving in this instance. I wonder why is it called posting? hmmm?

I fully understand your proposal for this position!
I have actually received emails interesting that meet many of the questions I posed and others also helped me to evolve!
eg I do not know how to participate in your private tournaments and then I just realized that by posting comments and I hope that my comments are up! is a very good idea and it keeps the forum very active to the delight of members and therefore my greatest happiness too!
I wish you a very good continuation and congratulations again to the forum
good luck and see you on the table!
    and sorry for my english

    Question

I too have wondered where the term came; post. It is an old term and I have gone on excursions to find the why but no diffinitive answer could I find.

[Power On Self-Test (my favorite...no POST, no posting...lol)

In papermaking. a stack of 144 sheets of handmolded paper, interleaved with felt.

posting is a moderate to deep passing route in American football

part-of-speech tagging (POS tagging or POST)

Posting or postadh (Scottish Gaelic) was a process in washing clothes

Post, a name for a military base

Post, an entry in a blog or internet forum.

a POST message is a type of HTTP request message

The Persian system worked on stations (called Chapar-Khane), where the message carrier (called Chapar) would ride to the next post.

Well before the Middle Ages and during them, homing pigeons were used for pigeon post.]

But this is the one I think it comes from:
The verb meaning "to affix (a paper, etc.) to a post" (in a public place) is first recorded 1650.

    anybody have a better concept?

We have a whole thread for this issue, but I'll reply anyway.

I think 500 is just about right. Makes you have to earn it, keeps the field small and the play is better because when you an earn entry you don't just throw it away playing bingo poker. The last game I played was one of the friendliest but still competitive games I have ever played in.

Joke? The word is at least a few centuries older than post it notes.
