Default Mary Jane my only love

Long Long Long ago when I was just a little young child I remember my father telling me that if I ever said anything about what he was doing which in my eyes was making the room smell like a skunk that he could get in alot of trouble and I could get taken away. I remember thinking why what is so wrong with this? He was a pot head and it never botherd me at all. To be truefull I enjoyed the smell of the cannabis much more over my mothers cancer stick addiction. Today I have only hit a cigerette one time and it was because I thought it was a joint (i was drunk). On the other hand I do smoke cannabis and have already been through the whole "I need to be stoned before I do anything stage and everything is better when I am". I rarely buy it anymore but wont turn it down if I get the chance. I have learned also that there is a time and a place and that isnt all the time anywhere either. I have used gravity bongs, joints, blunts, vaporizers, hookas, volcano hookas (my personal favorite), steam rollers, gas masks, pretty much anything you can think of. I have eaten it in many forms as well. I get decent grades in college and have had a full time job for 3 years, I may have been fired here and there but only to return within a week.

I feel like im living proof that it is not such a bad thing and people need to be more aware of it and not so judgemental. I think that marijuana being illegal is based on lies and disinformation and that if people think that marijuana will be elininatied fro the planet is a ridiculous fantasy. Marijuana has fewer dangerous and hazardous effects on society than legal drugs such as alchohol, tobacco, and prescription drugs. Currancy flows from our American economy to international criminal gangs. It is just like the prohibiton period. The modern day prohibition on this substance has failed to control the use and domestic production of the plant; a plant that is used to develop hemp which is valuable as a agricultrural crop in the United States. This has even been developed as a new bio-fuel that would reduce the carbon emissions into the atmosphere.

I really belive that Marijuana is less harmful than people think. It is not lethal and is safer than alcohol. Its proben that its not toxic to the human body (you cant overdose on it). Caffeine, tobacco, and alcohol are more addictive than it. WHY IS IT ILLEGAL?

If you can belive this it is the largest cash crop in the United States and is grown not just here but all over the planet. 25 Million people use it annyually.

Like I said earlier its used to support criminals this is the problem just as alcohol was used during its prohibition. Why does it send billions of dollars over seas instead of being something potential in our economy. I think maybe if it was regulated it would reduce the use of other drugs in the illegal market. I know people that are on probation and would rather eat acid or exctacy because it doesnt stay in the system as long.

In our American history we have tried many ties to make marijuna legal for many years since the 1930s. I think this hasnt happend because the fear of change (come on Obama). All of this has only produced failing results and not taking us anywhere close to the obvious logical factors we sohould stop and consider. I think we need to take a step back just as I did when I was 8 for god sakes and realize that it is pretty harmless. Compare it to alcohol when they are place next to eachother the comparison is unbelievable.

Lets start using logical ways to find the real results of the many uses it has. I think that If America doesnt want to be full of stoners I think its too late for that and we are missing out on the money we could be making from it.

Sorry I just got a little worked up about it thats all I have to say.

Inspired from your post I decided to use google and search all I could about it. This is what I found to be the most common, untrue myths, and the correct facts countering them complete.

    1.
Myth: Marijuana Can Cause Permanent Mental Illness. Among adolescents, even occasional marijuana use may cause psychological damage. During intoxication, marijuana users become irrational and often behave erratically.

Fact: There is no convincing scientific evidence that marijuana causes psychological damage or mental illness in either teenagers or adults. Some marijuana users experience psychological distress following marijuana ingestion, which may include feelings of panic, anxiety, and paranoia. Such experiences can be frightening, but the effects are temporary. With very large doses, marijuana can cause temporary toxic psychosis. This occurs rarely, and almost always when marijuana is eaten rather than smoked. Marijuana does not cause profound changes in people's behavior.

    2.
Myth: Marijuana is Highly Addictive. Long term marijuana users experience physical dependence and withdrawal, and often need professional drug treatment to break their marijuana habits.

Fact: Most people who smoke marijuana smoke it only occasionally. A small minority of Americans - less than 1 percent - smoke marijuana on a daily basis. An even smaller minority develop a dependence on marijuana. Some people who smoke marijuana heavily and frequently stop without difficulty. Others seek help from drug treatment professionals. Marijuana does not cause physical dependence. If people experience withdrawal symptoms at all, they are remarkably mild.

    3.
Myth: Marijuana Is More Potent Today Than In The Past. Adults who used marijuana in the 1960s and 1970s fail to realize that when today's youth use marijuana they are using a much more dangerous drug.

Fact: When today's youth use marijuana, they are using the same drug used by youth in the 1960s and 1970s. A small number of low-THC samples seized by the Drug Enforcement Administration are used to calculate a dramatic increase in potency. However, these samples were not representative of the marijuana generally available to users during this era. Potency data from the early 1980s to the present are more reliable, and they show no increase in the average THC content of marijuana. Even if marijuana potency were to increase, it would not necessarily make the drug more dangerous. Marijuana that varies quite substantially in potency produces similar psychoactive effects.

    4.
Myth: Marijuana Offenses Are Not Severely Punished. Few marijuana law violators are arrested and hardly anyone goes to prison. This lenient treatment is responsible for marijuana continued availability and use.

Fact: Marijuana arrests in the United States doubled between 1991 and 1995. In 1995, more than one-half-million people were arrested for marijuana offenses. Eighty-six percent of them were arrested for marijuana possession. Tens of thousands of people are now in prison or marijuana offenses. An even greater number are punished with probation, fines, and civil sanctions, including having their property seized, their driver's license revoked, and their employment terminated. Despite these civil and criminal sanctions, marijuana continues to be readily available and widely used.

    5.
Myth: Marijuana is More Damaging to the Lungs Than Tobacco. Marijuana smokers are at a high risk of developing lung cancer, bronchitis, and emphysema.

Fact: Moderate smoking of marijuana appears to pose minimal danger to the lungs. Like tobacco smoke, marijuana smoke contains a number of irritants and carcinogens. But marijuana users typically smoke much less often than tobacco smokers, and over time, inhale much less smoke. As a result, the risk of serious lung damage should be lower in marijuana smokers. There have been no reports of lung cancer related solely to marijuana, and in a large study presented to the American Thoracic Society in 2006, even heavy users of smoked marijuana were found not to have any increased risk of lung cancer. Unlike heavy tobacco smokers, heavy marijuana smokers exhibit no obstruction of the lung's small airway. That indicates that people will not develop emphysema from smoking marijuana.

    6.
Myth: Marijuana Kills Brain Cells. Used over time, marijuana permanently alters brain structure and function, causing memory loss, cognitive impairment, personality deterioration, and reduced productivity.

Fact: None of the medical tests currently used to detect brain damage in humans have found harm from marijuana, even from long term high-dose use. An early study reported brain damage in rhesus monkeys after six months exposure to high concentrations of marijuana smoke. In a recent, more carefully conducted study, researchers found no evidence of brain abnormality in monkeys that were forced to inhale the equivalent of four to five marijuana cigarettes every day for a year. The claim that marijuana kills brain cells is based on a speculative report dating back a quarter of a century that has never been supported by any scientific study.

That's probably more than you wanted to know but there is a site Marijuana Law Reform - NORML and it's a great resource.

Smoking pots increases the water in your brain cells and slows you down.
That's it. Quit smoking and your brain cells become normal again.
    1 joint = 3 cigerettes
I smoke pot because I am too smart for my own good and borderline pycho.
Mellows me out so I can do simple tasks without over thinking everything like my Dad does and drive myself and everyone around me nuts.
It sure beats pills and alcohol.
So a 1 joint a day habit is very insignificant.

You can drink a 12 pack a day of beer and pass any employment drug test. You smoke 2 packs of cigs a day and you are excepted in societies eyes, but your killing yourself. Smoke 1 joint a day and your considered a
cronic user and you won't be able to pass a drug test.

Yep if American could legalize it and tax it and make money, they would. But the best pot isn't grown in America so they won't.

I've been searching about legalizing it all day since you brought this post up, lol.

Are we going be partaking in this indulgence today at the heads up tourney?I will have to bring more food if we do,I hear it helps your appetite,"munchies". I think in the near future it may indeed be legal, in our great country. It would be a shame if they don't, cause as far as I've seen the plus side far outways the minus.420 all day everyday that may indeed be cool.

I don't exactly know. When does this tourney start and can someone tell me if I still have enough time to buy the password. I'd like to play in todays game too but don't think that will be an option for me and my chip count.

And as far as the weed smoking.

I'm pregnant and am not allowed too, damnit.

But I quit that stuff in college anyways, Just something to do, you know.

Sorry about that I didn't even answer your part of the question when I was posting.

Some of the best weed is in fact in South America, and in Mexico, to be honest.

There, I answer that part of the question now.

I found this to be very interesting. Several different strains of the plant, how and where it was or is grown. I am not sure about the credibility of this site. But if you want to check it out here ya go (Marijuana Strains Pictures and Descriptions).

I've smoked my fair share in the past, but to say it's harmless is just naive.
