How good of a football hadicapper do you think you are?

Join Ringo's Weekly Football Locks Contest

Simply pick your 4 best football locks each week including point spread.
Some people would pay big money for this information.
But we will be playing for some big chip prizes.

I am asking everyone who plays to donate 200-1000
chips into the pot. Just post what your willing to give and we will divy it up later. (even if you don't have the chips now, it's ok to play)
50% to the overall winner
25% to second place winner
25% to the person who had the most 5 star locks correct.

To show everyone how confident I am at being the Best NDN Football Hadicapper, I am donating 1000 chips to get things interesting.

The first week picks need to be posted by Thursday @ noon Sept. 10. After the first week you can post your games up until 2 hours before game time. If you miss the college games and the sunday morning NFL games, you still have time to get in 4 picks with monday night as well.
Over/Unders are welcomed bets. No first half bets excepted.
The season ends on the last weekend of the NFL.
I will keep track of everyones win/loss stats and at the end of the year, prizes will be awarded.

The rules are simple:
Each week post 4 picks from either the NFL or College football or both. Your best 4 picks are called LOCKS.
To spice things up, you will get 2 points for winning your 5 star lock.
It should look like this:

Week #1

5 star lock USC -13 over OKlahoma
Steelers +3 1/2 over Patriots
Dolphins-Jets under 36 1/2
49ers +8 1/2 over Vikings

1 point for each correct and 2 points for 5 star pick correct.
Spreads should be moved 1/2 point either side so we have no ties. Don't abuse this rule!! If caught moving line too much could result in a judges ruling and or disqualified game and will be asked to re-pick another game. Be clever.


The Pointspread posted is considered valid even if the line moves. Since it is a long season, some may miss a week.
We will toss out everyones worst 2 weeks.
That will be a total of 15 weeks and a possible 75 points.

This sounds like fun! I'll let you know before deadline how many chips I'm in for. I'm kinda waiting to see what kind of buyins are to be expected for the NDNPT. This is gonna be a fun football season at NDN this year!!!

Should I include Premier League Football as well to accomodate Eejit?

I'm interested in joining the contest. However, I think that if people are going to put in their own chips, it should be a specific amount or just have everyone put in the minimum of 200 chips. Also, I think we'd have to clarify some of the rules with the lines.
ESPN used to have a handicapping contest (don't know if they have it this year). I think they set the lines on Tuesday and they stay that way. Maybe we should use their lines or agree on a similar system where the line doesn't move.

Also, we need to think about how we are going to collect chips from everyone and then do the payouts. Will eejit or NDN be involved so we can work this out?

I'd also be interested in doing this just for bragging rights.

chips transfers are easy and as far as the line is concerned.
I like the floating line idea I had
You can move the line 1/2 point either way.
Once you post the line it is set in stone.
We can all dispute a line and make someone choose another game.

This will be fun
200-1000 chips by christmas is nothing.

I think that is fine as long as there is a way for us to transfer chips amongst ourselves or have NDN or eejit agree to handle this for us.
