Default Michael Vick playing in the NFL again?

Last August it was noted that Michael Vick's agents and lawyers, were in talks with the National Football League for him about returning to football.

He was even quoted in an interview that was blasted on the net saying, "My plan is to go back into playing football."

Well now, almost a year later the above is confirmed that Michael Vick has been reinstated to play in the NFL.

The only thing that is left is for him to find a team to play for.

After serving 1 year and a half in prison for a inhumane crime, running a dog fighting ring, he was reinstated by Roger Goodell on Monday.

Goodell is the NFL commissioner just to let you know.

I've been hearing so many conversations about Vick coming to play for the Dallas Cowboys so I decided to make a thread about it and see what all the members think of this.

It's weird for me to think that he could be active in games in October of this year.

I've heard that he can be active in workouts and metting and can play in the final two preseason game, but the thing is, who is going to sign this guy anyways?

I don't think Dallas will take him.

And a few other teams have already said they wouldn't take him and have decided to pass on him.

One of them being the Atlanta Falcons, who released him from his contract before his jail time.

I have been talking with many of my male friends and they said they would boycott their teams if Michael Vick was given a contract by any of them, so I was wondering what you guys were thinking?

I could not even imagine what Michael Vick is going through.

Peta is not letting this go even though he paid his time, but I don't even know if I'd be okay with it.

I'm just such a dog lover though.

    What does everyone else think?

None of the guys have any opinions about this?

    I'm really shocked.

I'm basing all my opinions about news articles and radio sport shows, and espn radio.

The factual evidence that they are bringing out.

I never saw any footage of the dogfights though and they say they were severe.

I just wonder how he can represent an American pastime and be a role model when he hurt poor dogs.

And you know Americans view their pets as family.

    Even if they aren't blood.

That's my opinion and thoughts though.

from what i read the cowboys are not and never were interested in the vick. cowboys have tony romo. the only reason i can see them even wanting him is to run the wildcat offence with jones and barber. I think he will go to Jax or even Oakland given al davis likes to gamble and will buy up on anyt hing that is fast and vixk is very fast or at least he was

I agree completely with you Target.

    Completely!

That might be a first for us lol.

I never thought Dallas was really interested.

But I live in Dallas, and it's the hypothetical people are throwing around at the bars, and clubs.

You know what I mean by that?

And it's been talked about to death on the sports radio stations I listen to.

I think he will go with Al Davis 100%.

Which wouldn't be a bad move for him really.

He should take whatever he gets, after having to file for bankruptcy earlier.

al davis does like to take chances on bad boys as in randy moss in the past also he is a sucker for speed. his number 1 draft choice was garbage but since they guy was like the fastest person in the draft he took him......... we shall se where vick goes.

I'll be watching for what it's worth.

It's news worthy for right now.

And I want to see how he gets welcomed to a team if he does.

The NFL experimented with the small quick quarterback offense with little success because the Defenses are way to quick.
The big brawny quartback is what is needed now to compete with the speed.
Michael Vick is not seen as an asset to any team.
The animal activists will boycott any team he signs with and the fear of loss in sales is too risky.
I see him in Arean football or the Europe league.

i agree with you ringo but also i know every year there is always that on team willing to take a chance where the risk is worth the reward if he works out.

Well i hadn't seen the other posts so I will spam here.First I love animals, fried, broiled, baked, etc. lol.Really I have a dog and a cat,and treat them as if they were my kids.Second I have never been a big vick fan, however he was a great player for the Falcons.Third there are a bunch of teams I'm sure if there PR departments will let them they will jump all over him. Also the wildcat formation is a big thing now, isn't that where Vick would fit in perfect?I think it's called the wildcat anyways, the guy won't be unemployed long, that is almost a sure thing I think anyways.

yeah its called the wildcat and i do agree a team that will run that will be more willing to take him but for that to happen you need 2 decent rb's

I'm sorry I didn't see the post about this.

Didn't mean to bring up a topic that's already been posted.

It's just been a big hypothetical around my neck of the woods and I didn't see it being discussed on here.

I will try to look at the threads more to see anything.

    Didn't mean to spam.

Now I'm off to watch the latest episode of The T.O. Show

It's decent to watch, for the mocking abilities it offers.

Good Morning all! I don't know if this was released by the Associated Press or not, but in my local paper, there is a cartoon with a football laying on the ground with Vick written on it. Standing above the football is a dog with his rear leg lifted up taking a piss on "Vick". I thought this was funny enough to share with you. I still and won't have any harsh feelings toward Vick. Like I said I would love to have him play for the Dolphins! Have a great day!

well the rumors now are that he might be going to seattle and play with jim mora who was his coach when he was a falcon. this would work out fine for vick since seattle isnt a main stream city as say dallas or boston. no matter what though any team he goes to will have to deal with pr for a while.

I remember reading a post awhile ago about the same thing, before he was reinstated. I remember everyone else thinking that he wouldnt play because of the animal rights picketers and bad press etc.; but what everyone always forgets... is money. People will undoubtedly pay big bucks to see this guy play, particular after all the hype hes been getting. The games he plays in will be watched more than if this had never happened, which means more money for advertising spots, which means more money for NFL and more money for the cable stations running the games. He couldve done any number of things, dogfighting, murder, drugs, DUI, any of em. With the amount of press coverage he got (especially with the sports stations) its almost as if its simply a ploy to make money. Coincidence: Michael Jacksons death coverage which was and is EVERYWHERE, has spiked sales of everything that has to do with him. The idiot SHEEPLE, see it in the news, and then buy it. Whatever it is. Jackson, Vick, whatever; its in the news and people will buy. And its been so oversaturated, that i guarentee you when he does play, you will see record ratings for people watching, and cost of advertising on radio and TV during the games

I personally could care less whether or not he plays, but it just irritates me that sportcenter and nesn and everything are beatin this story like a dead horse. Its almost done JUST SO that when he comes back more people will watch.... Anyone else see the correlation of the media and the income for these large companies?? I certainly hope some do.... cause i wont be watching vick, or buying michael jackson anything... ya see... im not a sheepple, and i hope u all arent either.

Mixed emotions about Michael Vick: I hope he can get his life turned around--which means playing in the NFL--but I really don't want to watch him play.

Am I hearing this right? I think I just heard on tv...that they are creating a team for Vick called the "Orlando Tuskers" and taking guys from the street to play in it. I must not have heard that right...that's crazy! Can they do that? Florida has too many teams as it is. I think he should play for the Dolphins! Oh well, I wish him luck...street guys against pro guys, could be very interesting....

i think that is the new 6 team football league that is coming. like we have one in san fran and its called the san fran redwoods or something like that. i think its just as funny as the xfl that vince mcmahon from wrestling tried to do. lol well it will last one season and then it will be gone like last weeks trash. nah vick wont sign with them. he has like 6 teams in the nfl interested in him and the dolphins arent one. they got pat white in this years nfl draft from west virgina and he is in the vick mold. so there wildcat offense should be really good this year. plus ronnie brown coming back and ricky williams isnt smoking pot anymore. thi should be a good year for the dolphins. but teams are expecting them to be good so they wont be caught off guard this season.

hy has anyone seen kaci. i havent seen here since ndn banned her from chips. ndn dont neg rep me for this . this is a good question. she said she would still be around no matter what and i havnet seen here in almost 2 weeks. not that im complaining. well ndn did u ban her for life.

I hope Vick plays again because he was a phenomenal athlete and deserves a second chance in the NFL. I don't care what he does off the field and believe that dogfighting isn't as bad as cheating. The players that use banned substances should get far worse than what Vick got. But laws are laws and dogfighting is a crime. Its the cheaters in the NFL who should go to prison just like accountants who cheat go to prison or at least if they get caught.

Well the Redskins don't want him or so I heard.Didn't the arena league just fold? What about that wrestling guys league? That may be a way for him to play again,I think he should be banned for life,I mean they banned Pete Rose for life, yes i know he bet on his sport, but he never took steroids or mutilated animals.as far as Kaci she was back for a little while,I thought she just got booted from the chips system,I dunno tho.

i agree he is a great athlete but he is a crappy QB. he needs to be a flanker or a tailback. i think if he plays a flanker position thats the best fit for his athleticism. look at what he did he went to prison. he ran for 1k in yards. what i think is funny that he does 2 years in fed prison and donte stallworth kills someone under the influence and gets 30 days jail time and gets out after 24 days. i know the guy ran out in front of him but he was under the influence. so i have mixed feelings about it all together. i atched E:60 yesterday and stallworth did his 1st interview and thats what makes me believe that even if h wasnt drunk he would have still hit the guy. ah i dont know. i know if he killed someone close to me i would be fighting for him to serve jail time. bu tthe family did get paid so i guess that was suffice to them. but i think vick will be back ahe will just need to get in shape.

i agree. i dont agree with what vick did but i am so sick of people giving him **** for it. he made a mistake and as everyone goes through life we all been given second chances at things. what really upsets me the most is how people keep pickin gon this guy. what about stallworth? he was drunk and killed a guy. why doesnt the public rag this guy? why did he get less time in jail? to me i think vick got a rotten deal and the justice system has once again proven why it is all jacked up. in my book killing a person while driving drunk is far worst crime then being involed with fighting pitbulls. yeah most fo the pitbulls in the fights die if they lose but still pets are replaceale but a human, dad, and husband cant be replaced. it is what it is and thats all i got to say about that.

lol we think alike. and yes i watched the e60 last night also and i think if he wasnt drunk the guy would still be alive as he wouldnt of been up that early to go eat breakfast imo. i mean come on when you had a long night of drinking and your still up at that time waht do you go do? eat at ihop or dennys. i honestly think he still would of been in bed at that time he hit the guy. i not saying another car wouldnt of hit him but at least his name wouldnt of been in the headline for dwi and killing a man.

well donte didnt kill him intentionally . like i said the guys was gonna die if donte was drunk or not. i just thought he should have gotten a little more time. check out this link. the police have the video showing the man darting out into traffic from behind a palm tree. donte would have been able to react in time any ways. the vid is locked up via a request by a jugde so it hasnt been made public. i think vick should have gone to prison for the pit bull fights. but he should have went to prison for racketeering. because he funded it. thats where most of his fed time came from. but all the animal rights people want to make a stink of it. i really think we have a warped world were a player that holds dog fights gets more air time then say someone that murders and rapes lil kids. u know i love pets and all animals but i hate all the activists. they are freaking crazy people that have no life. what a bunch of losers.

i just wondering why MADD(Mother's Against Drunk Driving) didnt make a big deal about the whole donte thing. Biggest thing i guess i have against donte is he drove drunk and killed someone. i careless about if the guy darted out in front of him or not. the point of him being drunk and getting behind the wheel is what gets me the most upset about it all.

who is to say he doesnt wreck later on down the road or kill someone else on his way to go eat breakfast? i really belive the man about what he says cuz anybody in that situation would be having the same problem. honestly i wouldnt be able to sleep much at night knowing i made the choice to drink and drive and end up killing someone. i just dont kow if i could live with myself knowing i killing someone by my own stupidity.
