Hi all, I'm Chi Largo. I see that Woohoo Sue has warned you that I was coming.
A little about me: I have been playing poker online for about 5 years, and playing hold'em for about the same. I used to play penny-ante poker in a friendly game with buddies, but we weren't very serious and we weren't very good. Since I've started playing online I've become a lot more serious about my game, although I'm still not very good. Don't worry -- I'm not a donkey; I'd rather fold my way to nothingness than to play a bad hand.
I met my best friend Woohoo Sue online on play-money ring tables at PokerStars. She is the one who introduced me to the excitement of Sit'N'Gos and the thrill of the MTT. We've played a lot of poker together over the years, and we'll take every opportunity to knock each other out of the game, best friends or not. (Although I can't actually remember ever having knocked her out of a game. She knocks me out with incredible regularity . . . hmmm.)
Since those first games at PokerStars, I've broadened my horizons a bit. I enjoy Omaha Hi-Lo, and once in a while I like a good game of Razz or HORSE. I've been known to play 7-stud if I'm looking for a challenge. I'll even play Badugi or 5-card-draw if I'm bored and there's nothing better to do.
Aside from poker, I enjoy camping, photography, reading, and writing. Especially writing, as you'll probably find out soon enough from my posts. Sue says I'm wordy.
My hobbies include beer-making, although I haven't had the chance to brew in a while. I especially enjoy brewing British-style ales, mostly bitters, porters, and stouts. I enjoy collecting (and smoking) good, hand-rolled cigars, and my humidors currently contain somewhere around 400 cigars of many varieties. If someone is up for some cigar talk, give me a shout. I especially enjoy Nicaraguan and Honduran cigars, although I'm open to new things.
(Hmmmm, poker, beer, and cigars. Seems like all my hobbies are considered sins by decent folk. Must say something about my character.)
I also LOVE baseball. I've been to games in 22 different stadiums, and I'm hoping to get a chance to make the trip out west to see the last 8, as well as re-visiting a few cities that have built new ballparks since the last time I was there. My longtime favorite teams are the Chicago Cubs and the Boston Red Sox, and I've become quite the Tampa Bay Rays fan since I've been watching baseball with Sue.
And to all of you fantasy baseballers out there, just wait until next year! I am listed as the co-owner to Sue's team only so that I could watch her play. Be glad I'm not actually helping her manage her team, and be VERY glad that I don't have a team of my own! Fair warning for next season. It's been fun watching your season. There are definitely some good players in your league, and I hope I'll have the chance to compete against you. It makes my stomach hurt a little to see all of the elite players as free agents in your league because there are only 6 teams. Hopefully a few more people will get the urge to play next year, and I'd love to be one of them.
Well, this is definitely a HUGE forum with a lot to see and a lot to learn. My head is spinning a little. I'll do my best to try to figure things out.
Thank you to Woohoo Sue for the introduction, and thank you to everyone who posted a "welcome." I look forward to seeing some of you around.
