These two poker rooms have had that reputation for a long time now. I'm still weary of playing there. If it happened once it can happen again. It's hard to trust any online gaming site. We love it though and we're addicted, so we keep playing!

In octoberof 2007 I won a bad beat jackpot for 67k and some change. Then in the month of september that same year i won another 17k sitting at a tabl that got the bad beat, before they had it set up to where it was split between everybody at the same table type, stakes.
So thats 84k in the span of 3 months right? Well i took 45k out over the course of october through january of 2008. I played alot poker in the higher stakes cash tables such as the $5/$10 and the $10/$20 tables, as well as a decent amount of time at the $2/$4 no limit. I won quite a bit at tournaments and a few times at the cash tables, but it seems like no matter what i did i eventually couldnt have a winning session.
This is my states at another site, playing the same game i always play:
Username Games Played Av. Profit Av. Stake Av. ROI Total Profit Form Ability /100 Network Filter
Blacklight 177 $1 $4 95% $249 - 71 Cake x
Over the course of those months from october 08 to january of 08, i lost around 30k in money, playing the exact same way i always play, just at higher stakes. Now during this same time period all these allegations of cheating scandels are taking place, but at the time i didnt know about it.
Well, once i started getting into the forum world and checking out news of poker, i came across this information about UB and AP and decided to check into my hand histories as well, knowing full well that i had always thought something fishy had been going on. I was one of the observers of the potripper incident, and got $500 in ccompensation for the leak of confidential informations and my ip adress and my user name which is lafate27 at AP. complete BS for compensation right? yup.
So i requested my hand history from AP everything i have ever played from the time i joined which they refuse to give me, knowing full well that i was cheated i guess, and that if i had help from others reviewing my hand history they would see that i got cheated out of thousands of dollars, all the while my information is in the hands of these cheaters right? I remember some names of people that i remember that i believed cheated me even today, A few which have gone on to be big name players at AP/UB such as southcjay and z8eldred, as well as a few others such as manuteboljr and eehore that blue donkey b@#$h. Most of these guys have dissapeared, either by changing their names, or just by deciding that the heat was too high during the cheating outbreaks, but a few are still around. I have repeatedly asked AP to investigate my allegations, and kanawake gaming commission, both give me the run around. I need help in this matter, but dont really know where to turn, and have put it on the back shelfs, hoping one day that AP or kanawake will fess up, and step up and do thier customers right. If anyone out there can derict me to someone that can be of assistance please let me know.
well i read this whole thread and wow. i knew it happened but how the hell does a high rankign member of AP do what he did. how are they still in business. well i dont think i have anything to worry about due to me not playing those high stakes but i guess it could still happen. thanks for the thread terps. it was very insightful. hey panam that sucks that u were swindled. well i hope u get it taken care fo but i doubt they will do anything. good luck to you though.
Semi related note:
My recent deposit at UltimateBet has just cost me $15 more than it should have.
They reported it as a cash advance and I have been charged by my bank accordingly.
**** UB.
I really wouldnt trust these guys man, they got some great cash table games with the bad beat and all but pay very close attention to everything and every player you play and a the end of the day request your hand history, you dont want to mess up and wait till its too late like me, and thats if they even give it to ya. I still play there, but my out of pocket money doesnt go to the cereus netwoks any more. Good luck Terp
i still remember when i first read about the cheating at absolute poker that they will be paying all the players involved (that got cheated) , maybe thats why they wont give you the information you were asking from them cause they will have to pay you after you will discover that you were cheated.i stopped playing at absolute when i first heard about the cheating there and only play there when they give me free $10 which they did early this month and i got it upto $50 and after losing i immediately uninstalled the software.maybe you should not stop asking them for the info you wanted cause you might still get some of your money back.
I still play at AP semi-regularly and don't seem to have any problems. Of course, I also don't go any higher than the $.50/$1 games when I play and spend most of my time at the $.25/$.50 tables. I know Mr307 has had a ton of success playing the same limits. He's been able to cash out a considerable amount of money in the last few months. So maybe just stick to the lower limits and stay away from the higher stuff.
I just lost my entire balance in Blackjack on UB.
I swear that crap is rigged once you up your bets.
Thank god Stars doesn't have a blackjack feature. That crap will be the death of me.
I've contacted support at Carbon, Poker Nordica, and Absolute and had them block blackjack from my account. I lost way too many bankrolls doing exactly what you did. I definitely recommend it.
You have no idea how many times I've upped my bankroll a few hundred on Sportsbook just to give it all back in Blackjack.
I'm talking 2-3 times a month. Fortunately my credit card blocks transactions to them now!
I'm not going to play poker anywhere other than PokerStars now. No BJ in sight.
The thing that pisses me off though is that I wound up paying the cash advance fee on my deposit at UB because they had reimbursed me into my account.
