Default I got a nice new strategy.

Now, after many many bad played hands. Im playing much better.
At least I can reach the money on 80% of the time, and if not, i reach the bubble.

    My strategy is this:
I never call a raise if I dont have monster hands.
And I never raise more than 3xBB iven with monster hands.

Off course I dont apply this every single hand.
If for example I have AA, and someone raise 2X or 3X BB i might raise it to 5x or 6x BB ir iven go all in if my stack is short.

But it is working wonders for me.
It helps me focus on staying, surviving on the game for much longer. Because tournaments is about surviving, so, being tight must be the first rule here. I get bluffed many times on this.
But now I dont bluff as often as I did before.
I get some beadbeat by some donkey all the time also.
Iven on games with higher buy-in than 5$...

You have a nice good strategy going for ya, and throw this one little tip in to help keep your stack neutral when your card dead. In the late position, (when your close to the left of the small blind) If there hasnt been any raises or calles then just raise the BBx3, most the time it works. The few exceptions are if the bb, sb have a good stack, they actually have a hand, or if they are gonna try to donk ya, thinking you have a hand.

this is a very basic and beginners strategy. keep doing what you are doing until you feel very comfortable. then you can start looking for spot and bluffing. you will not win as many mtt by playing super tight. I have played my last four mtt with out seeing a pocket pair 10's or higher. this will happen and you have to bluff to stay in the game! good luck to you

I like your strategy and use it for the most part - the other times I'm shoving allin preflop lol and attack the players who are using the tight strategy.

seems to me what you want to say is that you now have longer patience in playing poker. And having more patience and waiting for good hands your playing better and finishing much better in your games. GoodLuck on your games and good strategy.

I acctualy readed some poker strategy books before playing poker.
But now after around 600, more hours of poker, i think i need to read some more books of poker.
Acctualy I dont have found very much of strategy of poker here on the forum, the best training-learning basis here for me is playing agaist people i think i know and they know mine about our playing style.
thats the best for me on NDN forum when it comes to learning poker strategy, I can try to aply my different styles of poker against yours different style. Thats super cool i think.

when i started playing poker , i played exacctly just the way you played before but actually i didnt think that i was bluffing but what i was really thinking was my opponent was the one bluffing against me andthe call and just wanted me to fold my hand , so i always make the call cause i thought it was a bluff and i always end up losing all my chips early in the game and as i play more and more poker i learned just like you and now i learned when you need to bluff the right time.So now there are times that i win and most of the times i lose....LOL

Default A good poker can go on tilt and A bad player cannot lol

The thing is about being a good poker player is that they can put you on tilt.

IF they can do that they can make u lose every hand each game and have u lose u mind and everything u have along with it. lol

BAD POKER PLAYERS CAN'T GO ON TILT THEY ALWAYS EXPECT TO LOSE
THEY JUST HAPPEN TO WIN BY THE SLIMEST OF MARGINS AND GET AWAY.
I DON'T KNOW WHY BUT HEY IT HAPPENS.

Hint don't be such a NIT. Don't be such a good poker player. If you are good

Then you don't always have to win with the best there is hand lol.

This makes no sense to me either but those players who go all in with ne thing seems like they know what they are doing obviously
to get a good poker player on tilt or U on tilt lol.

Ok strategy and strategy.. maybe cause of my blonds hair, but if i read about readin books bout strategy etc etc.. now i am playing for two yrs and till now i was sure, that i am not so bad player, but if i read your post.. all of you.. my experience are nothing.. i did not read special book... i just played, and my favorite is look at in tv to the tourneys... dosent matter if big one or smaller one..
I must say one think: some hands dosent help even best strategy on the world.. Gl to the all.. with strategy, or without, but a lot of luck!!!!

It's true that knowing all the strategies in the world does not mean that you won't ever get your pocket AA's busted out from time to time, BUT knowing the fine details of the game and betting surely help. When I started playing (2 years ago?), I didn't even know if 3 of a kind was better than a straight, but now I'm learning about betting strategies, timing, betting position, etc. A lot of this is not something you can learn easily by simply playing without either reading more about the game or having a second set of eyes pointing out how you can improve your game. You need to constantly be prepared and willing to take advice and constructive criticism. It has improved my game immensely.

ok, but you really dont believe, that somebody can play poker good, without reading a books about strategies?

but if i am thinkon about it.... for the doctor is also not enoudh just talent

i understand what you mean. if i wanna be just poker player, nothing else, have it as a job, i must learn it... i have it just for fun.
Also i dont believe, that i can win some of bigger tourney, but i am sure, this kind of thinkin is not about readin, but is cause of believe in youself, and your playin

No, you don't need to read poker books. I have never read one (yet! I keep telling myself that I'm going to one of these days). If you're playing for fun, then yes, just play and enjoy yourself. But if you want to win money doing it, you need to kick it up a notch. I have a great friend who watches me play poker and points out the holes in my game when he sees them and explains how I can improve or change what I've been doing. This is just a guess but I'd be willing to bet that the closer you get to winning money, the more you will want to play seriously. In the meantime, enjoy the game!! I still do (usually!! lol).
