What's the square footage of your home? We pay an average of $60 a month on gas and electric at our apartment, but it is small, only around 1000 sq ft.

That's highway robbery. Contact you city counsel and county supervisor.
Organize your neighbors.
Don't let this go.
My highest bill for one month was $320 last winter and I had 2 electric heaters going 24/7/
Did they tell you about your 350% increase?
That is regulated by the city and county and increases have to be approved.
20% increase would make headlines
There is something wrong.
Raise bloody hell Lori.
OMG AR EYOU KIDDING ME. well my highest bill ever was last year during the winter. but it was high because my pipe for the hot water was leaking. i didnt find out till i noticed my bill. im not sure if your local news has a dept where u can file complaints and they will check on it for u at pge. they usually help people and get credits for them. well u better raise hell. this is crap. what a buncha crooks. hey check all your pipes and make sure u dont have a leak somewhere because my bill was about that much when i had that problem.
Thank you all for your input. I appreciate it very much. I have had it. I live in a very small place prob smaller than Tay's apt. All I know is that they have you by the B*lls. And sucks! I mean WTF I could move and pay more rent and live in a better place for the price I am paying to PG&E. I really think it is wrong. I am soooo sick of it. I am going to try to call again tomorrow, and see what they tell me about this one.
I think Ringo has the best idea. Go rock their boat, it couldn't hurt and it might really be just a mistake. Stay on them.
Well here in sac. I have smud , they only check the meters every three months . So in between they average out your usage . So like every three months i usually get a bill higher than the two months before . I dont know if this helps , but good luck !!!!!!!! You don't have a gas leak around the house do you ? P.s. My family is an electrical contractor in sacramento , and whenever we have to deal with pg & e it is a real pain in the .... B#lls !!!!!!!!! I hope you get this worked out . Please keep us posted !!!!!!!!!
I suppose that I should some what publicly apologize to PG&E as I have found the problem with my high electric bill. But that does not change the fact that I still think they have you by the b*lls. So sorry PG&E.
As I was flipping my lid yesterday a friend of mine showed up here and of coarse I did not stop my ranting. So he so kindly listened to me while I carried on. Let me assure you that I was nothing nice. When I stopped for a second because I needed to take a deep breath, ok I just needed to breath, whatever, he said, "well let's take a look around." He asked if I have noticed anything different at all and I had. My water pressure was not as good as it had been for one thing. Which I had mentioned already to another certain someone that I know more than once. Anyway, it just so happens that my friend has worked with water wells for years. He pulled my pump up and low and behold the thing was broke and was held together just enough for the water to still be pumped up but not as much as normal and it was running constantly for I am guessing about 4 months now. He being the nice gentleman that he is, went and got the part it needed and came back this am early and fixed it for me. What a sweetheart!
I rent this should not be my problem but the last time the acting landlord was here I told him about the water pressure issue and he and my husband went to check the well and as they got to the lil building it is in they saw a snake. So it was never checked as my husband is more afraid of snakes then a creepy 4 eyed monster! "For Christ sake!" Had I known this had happened I would have checked the damn thing myself but I was unaware of the snake incident until two day's ago. So..... that's all.
