You are actually wrong on the second point, it just makes it easier to tell who they're tweeting to and it might be bolded on your page but I'm not sure Usually I read Twitter from my iPhone, and not online so it's slightly differet but not much. I personally don't tweet much myself, but I do have several twitter feeds that I follow. It's a great way to get quick information that you want when you want it.
