August 31st is the final day that you will be able to redeem your chips for poker money, casino money, or Amazon.com money.

On September 1st, these items will be removed from The NDN Shop.

If you would like to redeem your chips for any of these items, please do so before August 31st.

Due to a predicted increase in the volume of these requests, all requests made from this point on will be processed within 90-days as opposed to the standard 7-day processing period that we have been using.

After September 1st your chips will essentially have no cash value so it's extremely important that you redeem them before that date.

The loyalty system is an important part of NDN and it will continue to be a unique feature even after these items are removed from The NDN Shop.

Here are some examples of things that you will be able to redeem your chips for in the near future:

Daily, Weekly, and Monthly drawings for poker money.

Monthly drawings for large items (such as Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and more).

Frequent freeroll poker tournaments with real money prize pools (possibly as frequent as 1-2 games per day).

There are many more things that you will be able to do with your chips in the near future.

Changes are coming soon so be sure to keep an eye out for them!

There is nothing to be scared of in that statement. It would be EXTREMELY rare that any request would take longer than the usual 7-day period, but I implemented that term just to cover myself in case there was a massive amount of requests (specifically casino money requests because it can take a while for them to get the information to me).

I don't believe I have "scared" anyone on the forum (although your post might have scared people). You will begin to see the new changes/plan this month and until then you are still free to earn/redeem your chips for poker money, casino money, and Amazon.com money.

Why the change? There are several reasons why I am making a change.

Most importantly, I decided to make this change because the current system took a LOT of work to maintain (for myself as well as eejit101).

The current system is open to far too much abuse and even after several attempts to curb the abuse there has been little improvement.

I've grown progressively frustrated at the amount of arguments I have seen between members of the forum in regards to our loyalty system and that's the complete opposite affect of what the system is supposed to do.

I've had to ban more members in the last month than I have had to ban in the last five years.

If you believe NDN has nothing left to offer after September 1st then I am truly saddened.

I'd like to think that even without a loyalty system in place, this site still has a lot to offer and our community is still strong.

Though I don't have anything set in stone - Here are some basic ideas of what is to come.

Drawings
We will continue to have a drawing for a large item each month (Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and more).

We may introduce daily, weekly, and monthly drawings for poker money.

Tournaments
We will introduce poker, blackjack, and slot tournaments with real money prize pools. You will be able to purchase the passwords to these games just like the chips tournaments. The chip buy-in amount will likely be much higher than our previous games to help control the number of players in the games. This will help ensure that each game is extremely valuable in regards to the number of players vs. the prize pool. The frequency of these games are to be determined, but we could potentially have multiple games a day. These games will be held on multiple platforms so we are not stuck on Merge every day. This also directly benefits the site because there will be more interest from new players if they see games with an actual prize pool (instead of the $0 prize pool that they've been seeing for a few months).

Shop
Random items will be added to the shop and you will be able to use your chips to purchase these items.

I have many ideas on my "to do list" and I expect to include more of them in the future.

At the moment, my main focus is on getting the tournaments back up and running and then I will have more time to spend on tweaking the system to make it as valuable and entertaining as possible for everyone involved.

I also have a BIG BIG BIG event that I am working on that has never been done before and EVERYONE is going to love it.

Maybe it was my mood that day but it also carried a sense of impending doom with it, like Ringo said. I know that was not your intention! the way i look at it. is this has to be done. solutions to curb abuse is working like he said. its gonna hurt for a bit but then u will get use to it like the rep system taking place. it is a shock though. things will work out in the end. they always do. but like i said this will show the true ndners. lol

I didn't mean to blindside anyone! I gave a 30-day notice for everyone to do what they wish with their chips (and you can still earn more chips and redeem them during this period).

I am really really interested in these private poker tournaments that you are talking about doing here, and yes i believe it is going to generate alot more interest in players not familiar with NDN. The blackjack tournaments i have had some troubles with in the pat because i cant seem to get the multiplayer black jack to load at the rtg casinoes for some reason. I have yet to try a slot tournament buts sounds interesting. I think what you are doing is going to be great for everybody in the long run, and i cant wait to hear whats gonna happen. Im all ears

Thank you NDN for everything. I can't wait to see what the big big event is going to be. I have all kind of ideas running thru my head. I feel NDN would not be the same without eejit, because he is a huge part of it and always will be. Too many Mod's can get out of control and then the power trips start. I like NDN just the way it is now. No disrespect to anybody, but if ain't broke, don't fix it.

I, and many others have waited, with much patience, aticipating what may be in store soon. Like a smoker without my favorite cigs, having to smoke some not so great off-brand, I fret and check NDN everyday, my eyes boggling over every nook and cranny, trying to find some news of something exciting, some news of the new changes being implemented, but to no avail. Its like having a pond down the road, stocked full of huge fish, but it has been temporarily been close down due to some negligent waste removal company.

I am excited about the changes taking place. but the anticipation has drove me crazy lol.

I am anxiously awaiting too...I think it's because we don't have the daily chip games in the routine anymore so it seems like there is nothing to do. Don't worry, there's still plenty of posting to be done and games to be played! There's always the poker room on here. And your chips are still valuable, so rack them up while you can and cash them in! Without of course!
