This concept is also known as finding your inner child and healing your shame.
As children, all of us suffered some kind of physical or emotional abuse.
This abuse has damaged our souls and makes it very difficult not to rerpeat the same abuses we grew up with.
It is very important that everyone works at healing our soul in order to better love ourself and others.
The first thing to consider is that it is not our parents fault.
They grew up with more abuse than we did.
They grew up in a society much different than ours now.
We need to ask ourselves if we want to raise a family like our parents did?
Secondly we need to talk about the abuses of our childhood.
Try to forgive our parents for any abuses that may have occurred and let them know that we are trying to heal ourselves.
They may ridicule us and not understand.
That's OK, because it's not about them, it's about us.
Let's all find a picture of ourselves when we were children and spend 15 minutes remembering all the dreams we had and all the good things that happened while we were children.
Then take that picture and put it in our wallets or purses and look at it
daily as a reminder how unique we are and how much we love ourselves
and our inner child.
