Honestly, i think if the child is up and about seeing that the parents are awake and moving about doing something, then naturally the child will want to be part of this. So my solution would be this. If you want your child to go to bed early, then get them up early say 7am or 8am or even earlier. That way they will go to bed earlier. Also when you do put them to bed, tune down the tv or music and lights for a while till they fall asleep, that way they dont think they are missing out on something. But whatever works best for you, do it.
