with a loose player i would of bet 1.50 preflop!! if he called i would of bet 4.00 on the flop and if he called to see the river and the fourth club came i would of checked folded!!!

if he has any sense he would fold pre or on the flop!!

Such is the joy of playing at the 10c/25c NL level. I've become used to the weird beats I take. Like I said, I was pretty sure he might have the flush and was willing to pay to see it. I didn't control the hand the way I should of, partly because I was trying to milk money out of him....so much for that.

Ouch. Hate when that happens, when u just play a hand the wrong way. Id agree with Eej with a bigger bet before the flop, bet meh, 3-5x bet is good. You do probably want to get more junk hands out before the flop comes. You want to raise enough to be able to put your opponent on a hand, callin 50 in the bb kinda limits the hands you can put him on.
But a bigger bet on the flop definately. A small pair will call you, a draw will call you, top pair, mid pair; there are a lot of hands that will come along with you if u just double your bet. In fact Id say that youd pretty much never get a fold right there. Raise so that u can put your opponent on a hand. Small pairs and bad draws wont be able to call a 3.5 raise there, and if they push back (with two pair, straight, or good draw) you might be able to lay it down.

The way i play aces: i like to get big money into the pot pre flop and post flop, rather than push in more over the whole hand. I dont want to let the draws and low pairs hit a card, and if someone did flop a set/straight/two pair on me, i want to be able to get away from it. I figure by betting big in the beginning im a) getting the junk out and b) getting my money in early with the best of it. More often than not, i wont even play past the turn. Im either out of the hand after the flop, or im pushing big enough to commit me to the hand. But thats just how i play em.
I want to see a post where you nail someone by playing aces perfectly. Deal?

i would be careful there cowboy! you made a nice min raise first to act! and you bet the whole way! which is fine, but you have to watch out for a set and two pair before the river came! someone flops a set on you, i think he plays it the same way!

however the person never reraised, so it was good that you bet the whole way! thanks and nice win cowboy!

What I didn't include was what PT3 told me about the player. Alot of how I play is based on the numbers provided to me. If it's a loose player the hand is played differently than versus a tight player.

i dont like the the small raise preflop but can deal with it. kinda hides that you have aa which could pay off. after the flop i think you should of raised more then a min raise if he had 2 spades you making it really cheap for him to see the turn. on the turn you simply called which i dont like either. i think you must raise in this postion also to see where your at. it you raise more preflop , flop, and turn then he calls all of that then he pretty much commited himself to the hand and which he will win on the river hitting the nut flush but if you raise more preflop and on the flop i see him folding the hand. i understand your slowplaying this hand but with flush draw on the flop you must make them pay to see the cards. i lost many times with aa slow playing so i try not to slow play much unless i got a good read on a player and know he will pay me off.

I was slightly confused when he called the min raise on the flop, but the biggest mistake I made was not raising on the turn to see where I stood. That being said, I'm pretty sure there was a reason while I was playing I didn't raise. I've won by both slow playing and by pushing hard with AA, but I've also lost. I'm glad this has generated some discussion. I will post more hands for people to look at and comment on.

I have about 3000 to pick from over the last 6 days. I will pick some out and post them up in a few days. I will try to add some insight about both the player and what I was thinking when I post them.

yes please. its so easy to post one hand but when you post the info on the player and your thought process it makes it easier to see what happen and where it went wrong or good for you. i think also you should make like a thread where you post part of the hand history and then give people a chance tp respond on what they would do in that situation and after a day or 2 post the results and see who makes the right call or the wrong one. to me this could be fun and educational at the same time.
