Default Staking What Does it Mean?

The art of staking is very simple but can be very complicated at the same

time. For me I love to stake people and love to play stakes. It gives certain

poker player a chance to play in a MTT SNG or any other poker game that

the person wouldnt be able to afford or don't want to risk losing half thier

bankroll playing. Playing small stakes is a great way to start and build a

    bankroll for any player.

When you accept a stake make sure you understand the rule of the stake

before you plan on playng the stake. Many stakes are 50/50 pluse stake

back. An example of this in a MTT(50 buy in and you win 350. You would

send you staker 200 and you would keep 150. Its simple math 350-SB of 50=

300 300/2=150. You keep your 50% and you ship the staker back his 50%

plus the stake back). Also you got make sure you follow all rule the staker

give you if you are running a SNG series stake or a cash game stake. You

must follow all guide line set by the staker. If staker tells you not to move

up to $5 SNG's til the bankroll reaches $75, then that means stay on the

lower limits til you reach $75. Same rules for running a cash game stake.

Some of the big no no's not to do with a stake, is not to play cash games if

your on a SNG or MTT stake. Play only what you agreed apon. Keeping a

good relationship with your staker could lead to bigger and better stakes.

Also keep a good hand history of the game or games your playing so when

your staker has a question you have the answer. Also with the saving your

hand history you can get help most of the time from your staker or a friend,

if your having a bad run and need some question about your game. As

stated above never move up in limits you play unless it was agreed apon by

the staker and yourself. Trust is a big thing with stakes.

Last thing i will leave you guys with is the mst inportant thing about staking.

Treat your stakers money like its your own and no I dont mean play like a

donkey. People stake you because they have interest in your game and feel

you can make them and yourself money at the same time while trying to help

you build a bankroll so you don't have to grind the lower limits.

    Good post.

Sums up all the key points.

The main point is treat ther money as your own.

    Screw that.

Treat the STAKERS money as if it was golddust. Respect it. ITs a gift.

Very good post. I too have staked a few folks in the past, and have been

staked as well, and it is really all about being trustworthy and good to the

people who try to help you. I completely agree with eejits post, it is

golddust, and if you treat your staker(sponsor) or whoever right and do good

then there is no telling how far youll get.

I've had people stake me and vice versa.

This was a good post for people who usually

do not play stakes or know much about them.

I've played cash stakes for the most part and

it's a running bankroll the player keeps in a rail.

These can really help or hurt you depending on

the tables you choose to sit at. I think not everyone

is right to play stake but you can work your way

up to playing them for the right people and have

great staking relationships. I know I like to play

for certain people and certain people only.

    Great post though, target.

Im sure theres been a thread about it; but why no open staking on NDN?
Good for NDN, good for fellow NDNr's, BAPs and stakes would definately make for another reason to join or remain in the family. Another reason to stay connected. Biggest staker of the month. Best horse of the month. Theres a lot of fun stuff to do with it, not to mention the $ that could be made by everyone. Was it something that was ever considered? or in the works? Eej? NDN?

We could stake just for chips.

Like stake people into the buyin games.

That's the only way I see doing it, because we already get rewarded for posting, so why would ndn make staking, like a real staking web site, a part of this.

It doesn't make much sense to me to have staking on here, is all.

I have no intentions of doing any staking on a large scale.

We have talked about a BAP (which I am still not opposed to). So that may be something we can get going in the future.

Buy A Piece, or BAP, is basically a marketplace where players can sell pieces of their action and anyone who’s interested can buy a portion of them.

Example: EEjit want to play 5 $200 games on Sunday but wants to sell half his action to people who want to try and make money off him doing good.
So with 5 $200 = $1000 selling half so $500 is up for grabs if others have interest in buying some of his action. After he sold the remaining $500 he will post or keep tab of ho has what action on him and at the end of the day he divide the winnings up based on the percent of what they own. So if you bought $100 worth of eejit buy in you would get 10% of what he wins.

Also with the BAP system you dont have to buy any shares of yourself and let the public buy it all but most of the better players will buy shares of themself to get more money back if they win.

I seen many people do BAP's for different reasons, some dont have big enough bankroll to play in all the tourny they want, some just dont want risk all their money and rather risk half of it and let other buy the rest or in some cases i seen people just sell pieces of themself to give others a chance to make a decent cash in a big tourny.

If your into staking then imo BAP are the best way to go as most BAP's have more then one tourny so you dont have everything riding on one tourny.

Also you can make BAP's for just about anything and everything from cash games or a series of sng's. I hope this gives you a little about what a BAP s about.

the chance of making money with a bap are far more better then a stake. most stakes are 1 game and if you lose you lose but if you hit it big you win good money.

Bap's on the other hand are low risk compared to stakes and yes you can still hit it big but overrall the chance of making money are a lot higher then a stake. With more games being played over a longer period cuts out variance alot.

just look at it like the stock market you going have your high risk stock and could make money fast or lose it fast. or be conservitive and get a low risk stock and make money slowly or lose it slowly.

I had been up for almost 24 hours in a row.

Looking back it doesn't make much sense what I said.

I never meant to say that, I thought I was talking about a bap.

    Anyways, I'm good now.

Not delirious in any way so there should be no weird posts today.

Or surprises at the chips game from me, for that matter.
