Is 2012 Bullsh*t?

Penn and Teller seem to think so. This season on their series, "Bull****!" they did an episode about the theory of the world ending in 2012. It made me think of freeringo, so here are the links so he (and all of you) can watch it on YouTube. The episode is broken down into three parts.

yes it is. its like Y2K. its all crap. but we shall see. i dont think it will happen.

I'm not so sure it is like that. Y2K was just a government/media hyped event to get people to consume. In order for individuals to be good americans they need to be either producing or consuming as many hours of the day as possible. Whenever there is a lack in spening or producing, some y2k, burd flu, natural disaster, something happens as an attempt to try and right the economy. To some degree there definately is that kinda aspect (pparticularly with the nostradamus articles and shows the are all over US tv, and with the movie 2012 comin out).
Huge discrepency is the long list of profits holy men, and actual tangible evidence of older civilizations and persons who believed or predicted it. Whether it be the paintings and etchings in the mayan ruins, or nostradamus, edgar casey, and the long list of other soothesayers and profits who have claimed it to be true.
I dont think that people can even wrap their mind around an idea like global annhialition. Its like trying to understand how the universe was just always there. Some things u gotta realize u just cant "get". As for its validity; with all the people crying wolf, just makes it harder and harder for me to believe. I just really really hope that these peoples messages of about these monumentous events arent obscured through commercialism and stubborn thinking. would really be something if we didnt heed that kinda warning, as a people...

once the sky starts to fall that is when i will be worried. i like how people get so hyped over this crap. trust me we all have a better chance of hitting the lotto for mutimuillions then this crap happen. if people truly believe this will happen then why do they still prepare for the future. i mean why not take out all your saving now and enjoy yourself while we still have them on earth as we know it. its just another goverbnebt scam to scare people and think the world is ending.
