Quads vs Straight Flush

I just saw a nasty hand on full tilt poker and wanted to know what you guys thought of the play.

Here it is.

Six max cash table and it's full.

Blinds are 1$/2$

Pre flop First to act and raises to 16$ with Ks Js.

It's folded around and small blind and big blind both call and the pot is at 48$.

Flop comes 2c 6c 8h.

SB Checks, Big Blind Bets 15$ (all in), First to act calls, and SB decided to call.

Pot is now at 93$.

Turn is 5c.

SB bets 45$ and then first to act folds.

Two players left and only the river to come.

The River is 8c.

The pot is for 93$ and one of the players is all in.

SB shows 8d 8s.
BB shows 9c 7c.

The big blind ends up getting lucky and beating quad eights with the straight flush.

But to me this hand is way funky and doesn't make any sense.

If someone could add some insight, I'd appreciate it, thanks.

At 1/2 on tilt you are allowed to sit down on the table with 40$.

Obviously he had lost some since I came and watch.

Sometimes, I'll just watch random tables on tilt.

Makes me feel like I'm learning something.

Maybe even how not to be an idiot.

I thought the only person who had reason to be in the hand was pocket 8s.

No one in that hand had reason to be in that hand. You are putting yourself in a bad position when you call 8x the bb with 88. I use a limit of 5x so long as they have 20 bb's in their stack. That hand should of been over before it ever started. It should of folded around to the pre flop raiser. That being said, looking at the action it makes some sort of sense. Small blind hit a decent flop for his hand, considering the action of UTG screams big hand. He checks hoping UTG bet's his big hand, but get's the bb to bet out with what ends up being a prospecting hand. I think at this point the SB should of pushed all in instead of calling to eliminate the UTG player. The turn hurts the SB hand and he knows it. Now he's trying to get some from the UTG player to off set the chips he's about to ship elsewhere. He is drawing to 10 outs at best. The river only finishes off his hand.

My question is this......How do you know the UTG hand if you were watching the table? He didn't showdown so either you know the player or you were the player.

This hand would have earned the bad beat jack pot in some places is all i can say about that one. Maybe fulltilt should do a badbeat jackpot.

And this hand was retarded to me too, so that's why I posted it and wanted someone to help out but now we've found the answer.

Whoever was on the table should not ever be allowed to play poker again.

For their safety and bankroll that is.

You still didnt answer how you knew that the 8x BB raiser had KJ if it didnt go to show down.

I don't know but this hand is just weird and it's not the only on full tilt that has been like this.

Many tables are open everyday, all day, and many hands are stange and bad like this if you just take a look at random tables.
