This is a sick hand. I see why the 2s were in past the flop.

But what I don't understand is the preflop action on this one.

I don't care if you are in the blinds.

    Small blind, I'd limp.

And big blind, I'd simply check.

But if you are in neither postion I would not limp or call.

That was a sick, sick, hand.

    Thanks for posting.

    oh gawd, more stolen hands.

    Sick, beat, but who cares...

Kaci - Not limping with small pairs from earlier positions is insane. Yeah, youll miss one in every 6 times, and someone might raise and you might have to fold...

    BUT

If you hit your set, and anyone else hits something, a draw, 2 pair, overpair, top pair, or just complte *** all and wants to bluff at it, then your gonna stack some people. So you want to save 20 chips.. (which become pointless soon as 20chips is nothing in an hour when the blinds are 75/150) and not try and win up to 9k chips?

As for your analysis of where you play your hands.... ive seen you 3bet out of position with KJ suited to a raise.... and that raise was from me. I dont raise light. On that hand with you i had QQ. I dont get how you wouldnt limp for 20 chips with 22/44, but would reraise to 15x BB with KJ.

Once more, just to confirm, not roasting you, but this is basic poker 101.

If you look carefully at the history, this was a rebuy. Stacks are 150 blinds deep, and people will stack off insanely light in rebuys. So set mining is insanely profitable. Which is what happened on this hand. Pretty standard really.

I'm not commenting on another poker hand analysis or whatever.

Clearly my poker playing sucks and I can't just play poker for fun or entertainment.

    Eejit you frustrate me sometimes.

He posted for thoughts, those were my thoughts.

And I didn't win 65k$ tourney or whatever but damn, I didn't know you were a pro.

This post has many, sarcasm statements.

    Hope you got that.

And for the record, I play for fun, not to become the next Durrrr or whatever.

I know, im not saying im awesome.

Im saying your advice is wrong. And in no way can it be backed up.

The main thing we need to get here is there is a basic math side of poker, which is undenyable fact. If im quoting things from that side of poker, what i say is proven to be true.

However, certain plays are not math based. Read based plays and other things i can only offer advice on. This advice is in no way 100% true. It may be good advice, but theres always an arguament.

In math, there is no arguament.

this hand = math based preflop, therefore, i pointed out the facts

I know but you missed the very important thing I was trying to say in my post.

At least I think it is very important.

Some people just play based on fun and entertainment.

And if you play by entertainment and fun than you are not playing for anything more than a good time usually and if you win, great.

If not, than it's okay too because it is not a career goal for those people.

I offer advice based on my opinions and I am allowed to voice them.

Also if people play like me and you call them donks or whatever than do it, I, and we are what keep the poker economy afloat.

Not saying I deposit 100,000$ but I deposit enough to say I contribute to it.

And I was implying he was slamming me, but every poker advice thread I see and try to voice my opinion, I can't seem to do anything right.

I'm just not going to comment on them after all.

And sometimes people don't play based on the math.

They play based on emotion and their gut feelings.

    Like I do. Anyways.

eejit's explanation after your first post was spot on. There is NO arguing with the math of poker, it is what it is and there is no changing it, unless you play with a 50 card deck. Don't take people saying you are wrong as a slam. Some of the players here know the math of poker like most people know the back of their hand. Eejit is VERY good at the math of poker. Take what he is saying and consider applying it to your game.

As I said before, if you post advise and it goes against the only know fact in poker (the math), someone is going to call you on it.

As to the hand, there is nothing wrong with calling up to 5x the bb so long as the player has 20+ bb's behind in his stack, even with 22. If you hit the set you are going to take most of the bb's in his stack and pay for the times you called and missed.
