    Default Poker, No Poker

So it's been awhile since I played any poker tournaments here at NDN. I'm just not into it

right now which is really unusual for me. Its not that I don't enjoy the games here with

you donkeys but, I'm feeling kinda flat on poker. I'm just not playing anywhere. Not in live

games. Not online. Heck I just turned down a friendly house game I know that I would

clean up at just last night. Now you make think BFD but, what you don't understand is that

I have been a gambling card player since I was 14. I didn't need a job until I was almost

20, although I had one since I was 16, because I learned to play with a bunch of guys who

played everyday. At anytime of day or night I could find a dirty no limit house game. Now I

have been a degenerate gambler for nearly 20 years and to suddenly lose interest baffles

me. Its not as if my last few experiences at the tables were bad. In fact I walked away a

with about $500 last time I played a live game. Sometimes I get the urge to check out a

quick game online but, I can't seem to concentrate on it. I lose interest, and therefore my

chips, in a short period of time. It's like I've almost grown fearful of losing at the table and

I don't know how to shake it off.

    Ideas?

    Thoughts?

just dont try and get back into it.

Take time off, if you start playing again then let it be for the right reasons. Think of all the extra tie u have to flirt with women

Sounds like your life is very content for you right now.

I use to play pool for money religously for years and I got Married had a child, not in that order, found poker and haven't had any desire to play pool since.

I think you may be just needing to cool it with poker for a while.

If you've been playing poker for 24 years so you've had a lot of experience and maybe you are just worn out of playing for the time being.

It's not a bad thing to be afraid to lose because it keeps you from going broke and not risking everything you have including the shirt off your back.

But you can't play being scared either.

At least that's my opinion, and my advice.

So I hope it was the least bit hopeful.

I too have gone through periods like this where poker has kinda lost its luster

and the adrenaline i get from playing just isnt there anymore. Those are the

times when I will go fishing, get out of the house, visit friends and family

have a bar-b-que, go to galveston and walk the beach, play in the sand and

    try to find sand dollars.

Everyone is right, I think maybe just a little time away from this sometimes

stressful game will leave you refreshed and ready to take on your next run of

    poker.

Well we all go through periods like that. If you totally forget poker for a few days or so then you will find your interest will peek again because we don't know what we have until it's gone. I was getting bored of it playing everyday and then I did a little stint in jail and man did I miss it when I had know way to play. So when I got out I was like a poker junkie. So just forget it a little while and then bam you'll find yourself ready to go.
