Free I will agree with you on taking down little pots vs dropping a big one.
I think if you raised to 5x the bb (almost 1/2 of eejits stack) he will only call with big hands. If he calls and an A or K flops you have to check fold your big hand. It happens once in a while, but it gives you more potential to increase your stack. If you get a flop with J's and below and it connects with part of eejits hand he might push, trying to double, and you can call and take him out.
I haven't seen you play much so I can't comment on your overall playing style or any improvements you made.
As a thought, do you use a tracker of some sort? If not, you might want to consider finding one you like and using it. Most will tell you how tight or loose you are and if you are showing down too much with second best hands. I got one a few years back and it improved my game greatly.
5X bet there does make alot of sense there.
The tracker idea is intriguing.
