POKER THOUGHTS

-Heads up against a monkey pushing random buttons, you have a 65% edge. Max.
-If you haven't had a 1 month+ downswing, you haven't played enough poker to be a winning player.
-If your downswing has been persisting since 1 month after you started playing online poker, it's not a downswing.
-You didn't understand [insert poker book here] the first time you read it. You got half of it the second time.
-If your poker books still have spines, there is still more information to be gleaned from them.
-Preflop play is only 1/4 of the game.
-If you mincash in 2 out of 5 tournaments, you still lose money.
-Someone has already told you the secret to beating the games you're in: you just weren't ready to hear it.
-Regardless of your personal beliefs, adding 2 tables > watching TV while playing.
-Real reads > Stats, but not having stats is like not eating bread because you like the butter better.
-99% of the time, timing tells are are self delusion. 1% of the time, they're infallible. Learn to tell the difference.
-Wear your unwashed, lucky T-shirt or don't.... aces still lose to deuces 20% of the time.
-Winning with AK vs. AQ 3 times in a row is just as unlikely as winning with AQ vs. AK once.
-If you disregard the above's implications in tournament play, you're going to spend a lot of time depressed.
-Play longer sessions when you're winning, and shorter ones when you're losing.
-Playing hungover is as bad as playing drunk... only you're not enjoying yourself nearly as much.
