alright drak as been playing very aggressive and loose since the start. he got lucky a few hands and won some small pots to chip up early. this was about the 5th or 6th hand. i like my preflop call could of raise but i feel just a call is good here but after that i feel i did every thing wrong in this hand. i feel a check raise after the flop would of took this pot down for me if not if i bet the turn then this hand is over and i scoop the pot but me trying to get the most out of this guy i wait til the river to bet and he hit his set and i knew it once i was reraised for my last 400 chips. i made the call due to pot odds and hoping maybe he had a weak ace. if you were me how would you played this hand. please feel free to post anything and everything i can take any positive or negitive feedback. this is only going to make me better.

U should have used all raise/called chips to bet only on the flop i think.

i didnt post that to be a smart a$$ or funny. i just dont want to here anyone complain cuz i made extra chips posting a hand instead of a screen shot. to be honest i think about posting this hand here until after the fact and i closed down the cake software. i am just posting a hand i feel is one of my biggest mistakes i make in poker and it kills me sometimes cuz i do it over and over. i beat myself more then people beat me.

well at least u post a hand not like navuta. lol well it was a slow play that killed u. but from what u say i think that guy would have called no matter when u went all in. more unlucky then bad play.

    I have several thougs, robviously!

1 - Posting hands is 100x better than a screenshot. I believe this will never get a chip deduction, as long as its an actual hand with a point.

2 - Please dont post screenshots!

3 - I like preflop, it disguises your hand somewhat. In this kind of game id have just pushed, if he is donking he will call you, and id assume to be ahead 50% of the time, or racing 49% of the time. So i prefer a push, but i like the call too.

4 - Good flop! Good check/call here, seems standard.

5 - As for the turn, i bet the turn, for somewhere small, try and get him to bluff reraise, or call some chips into the pot with a weaker hand to make him more pot commited ont he river.

6 - As for the river, a lover kickers Ace can have paired now with 4 cards. On this kind of river, as played, id just push it.

The slow play killed you, but it was a good play. I think you should bet the turn tho.

yes a little unlucky but in my eyes more of a bad play. these type of plays that can make or break you in a tourny but at the same time you live and learn from mistakes and move forward. to ones who dont move forward are the one who fail the fix the holes in their game. i will try to post more hand later on when i see one i think would be good to talk about. i think eejit would love to comment on my play.

i agree bad play on your part but he wasnt going anywhere. make or break he was following it all in.

Hell no, turn bet wins the pot vs this guy IMO. As long as its a proper sized bet.

he four bet here preflop, which means he is going all the way to the river with this hand!!!

i would of tried to raise preflop maybe 400. he folds or calls. then push on the flop and he will fold!!!

yes, slow playing killed you. i dont know why you want to let people catch up.

Is it really slow playiong top pair top kicker.....i mean its a good hand on the flop obviosly....Preflop its not a made hand always remember that....so you preflop play was great.....on the flop u have the 7th nut hand....which in holdem is usuallt pretty good.....only AA Aj A4 44 jj and j4 have you beat....now look at hands he could possibly have been raising with AA JJ and AJ the 44 hes prolly limping j4 shouldn't be in pot and the A4 prolly a limp or fold preflop......so now you think u prolly have the 4th best possible hand....and you claim, he was splashing in the first 5-6 hands so hes a very active player so he prolly doesn't have any of those 3 hands that beat you.

So now after a flop of AJ4 you should prolly have check raised the flop and take it down right there....if you think about it you still only have one pair.

But since you opted to just call the Q fell on the turn....this adds to hand that could have you beat....such as AQ QQ and QJ suited and K 10 suited....possible hands he would raise with preflop....so now you deff either need to checkshove....or check fold your hand...yoo cannot let anotehr card come off the deck and add possible hands that beat you...but again you opted to check call and give him his set...which lost you the tourny.....take small pots when u can....don't trap unless you flop the nuts or close to it....AK i feel is not a trapping hand unless you flop the nut flush a boat or broadway with it....maybe even sometimes top 2...but not just one pair.......

So i hence don't try to slow play only top pair...unless its only for one street...even though in this case the guy hit a 2 outer on you unlucky...gl next time..hope i helped

That is an excellent post and very correct. I think a big raise on the flop will pick up the pot and allow you to continue to play the tournament. I'm not a fan of the slow play with anything less than a set or better. I usually only let a set get to the turn before I start pushing hard. If the board isn't very nice for my set I will push hard on the flop. You have to know EXACTLY where your opponent is if you want to slow play something other than the absolute nuts.
