Thread: The Next Change

    Default The Next Change

I have one more change in mind that I might need to implement.

Would anyone object to me making a change that would prevent a member from earning chips until they gain reputation?

I would make this change to stop new members from spamming the forum just to get the chips. I think it would work well too.

    Objections? Anyone? Bueller?

If I do this, I think I can make it so it will only apply to new members so that existing members won't be affected.

i think it would work out fairly. they do start off with some chips so if they gamble them wisely they would be able to play the chips game on pdc/ carbon or just lose them all at the blackjack table like me.

whats wrong with making people earn their strips frist. you know like they do in fraternities... just think you got eejit here to haze them along the way.

if they make it that far and stay witht he forum then you should credit them with 25-50 chips for sticking around and toughting it out. just a thought

no objections here, not that itd matter :-p. I think new members would quickly learn which posts are quality and which ones arent. Its like the rep system and this new idea are filters; to catch the bs and mundane, and to let the quality and personal posts through. Even if it doesnt work out or whatever, i appreciate the idea behind it. Always lookin out for us ndn :-p

I personally think this would be a good addition because of a few new members that should remind nameless. <- This might be the one thing me and glo bug totally agree on.

It would just protect the forum and make sure that everyone is here for the correct and right reasons, and not for just chip spamming/earning.

    I'm up for it.

And it sounds like alot of the other members are too, so all systems seem to be ready for go.

Well I guess you've already made the change, but I just wanted to add my voice too and say that I think it's a good change. As someone else said as long as they have some starting chips to be able to play in the chip games or something else that's probably good. Thanks for continuing to make this great place even better!
