I wanted to start this thread to see if there is any other live poker players out there who have been to Las Vegas lately as I have not been for a year and I have been hearing some mixed opinions about what is going on out there. I watched this sixty minutes thing on Steve Wynn and apparently revenues are down like thirty percent which is huge, and a lot of the hotels have floors blocked off and closed down to save money on utilities and maintenance because they are not getting filled up due to the alleged recession we have going on around here in the US. I realize that the visitor traffic may be slowed down quite a bit, but my main concern was the livelihood of the games as I am supposed to be moving out there in late August and do not want to walk into a bunch of dead poker rooms with no tourists and all grinders where I will see no real action. I usually play at the Wynn, so if anyone has been out there and been to that specific poker room I would love to see how things are turning out there. I really hope that all this economy stuff doesn't slow down everyones desire to gamble, but will rather increase it so we can get some dice rolling. My parents actually just took a trip out there and they said it was definitely slower but it wasn't like a ghost town or anything, so I imagine there is still some money flying around, but I was considering maybe even making my way out of the country where the US economy will have no effect on the gamblers. Perhaps the islands, like I heard Aruba has some great action and wealth to spread around, or maybe even something like Melbourne. I know several of you are not from the US, maybe a lot of you, and it would be nice to see if there are any places I could take an adventure to and find some juicy games. Thanks all
