I can not believe about this. It's such a shock to me. But I'll be respectful and say RIP. Even if I didn't agree with everything he did. He was and is still a music legend so I'm respectful for what he did for his genre.
Sad,sad,sad.
what a story though.. whether you hate him cause of the child diddling or yo love him cause of the music, ya cant say that his life wasnt riddled with controversy, great peaks, low lows, and the like. man had 13 number one hits, i think thriller still holds the record for the most sales of an album, ever (id have to check though maybe beatles??) regardless im sure hell be missed by a lot of people. what a freggin story though.. so much stuff happened in that dudes likfe i wouldnt even know where to begin. Weird though, he died at 50, right before he was going to perform 50 shows in london his final curtain call as it were. Eerie.... cant beat that bass line beat it or billie jean. Seriously. when he was in his prime man, he was untouchable... regardless of hsi future child didlings.
Did anyone watch the memorial for MJ yesterday?
When his daughter spoke at the end - It was one of the most incredibly sad things I had ever seen (you may have had to watch the full memorial to set the mood and fully understand just how sad it was). I think I cried the first few times I watched it.
I must say the memorial really did make him seem more human and you learned a lot about him!
I did see that part on replays but didn't get to watch the entire service. It was certainly very touching! Although Michael wasn't one of my favorite artists necessarily, I still enjoy his music and appreciate all of the wonderful things he's given to music and entertainment.
I just wonder if his legacy will be as great as Lennon's, despite Lennon's death being much more tragic, IMO. It is interesting to wonder if MJ had not been given a public funeral and instead only a vigil like was held for Lennon, if the media hype and frenzy would be as great. I certainly hope that Michael's music and love for the world marks his legacy as it should be, and not the media and their interpretation of him. That would be very sad, and if that happened, I suspect his legacy would not be as great or continue on as long as it should.
Thanks alot NDN
I am avoiding that video
Too emotional to bear.
I am boycotting Foxnews for their pediphile portrayal of Michael the whole week. That is so disrespectful.
u know i watched it and yes i did shed a few tears. ok i lied i cried. i always liked mj. i remember back when i was a kid in the 80's and beat it came out. u know breaking was popular and all that stuff. well me and my cousins use to have a dance crew. lol i know it sounds funny but that was the thing back then. well we all saved up our allowances and got some parachute pants with the zippers and the zipper jacket. mine was all black. i wore them with my shell toed adidas. its was the ****. that is a very vivid memory for me growing up. i love his music and still listen to it now. no matter what the press has ever wrote about him that was wrong i was always able to look past it. i dont know why but his music made my soul always feel good as it does today. i think the worst part about him passing is that no one ever got to say good bye. he was a weird as hell but his music never changed even though his body was. i know i am one of many people that really can say that he did put a stamp on my life. i let my girls listen to him with the ipod when we are driving in the car and they love it,. my oldest didnt really know much about him but only knew his music. so when she heard he died she asked me y and i just told her that he isnt dead because because his music still lives on. im glad she doesnt know about his really off the wall past because she sees him at his purists form. his memorial brought back so many childhood memories that i have forgotten. i actually got a call from one of my cousins from the dance crew and we reminisced. good times i tell ya. well i would like to say no matter what u think of him judge him by his music and not his weird antics. michael we miss u RIP.
Was the YouTube video on Michael Jackson - The Farewell? I saw Stevie Wonder's performance. Pretty awesome but im still not sure why he has the mustache wrap around, someone should get him some clippers. Maybe this is a little ultra-left politically, but I favor that the media heavily contributed to Michael Jackson's death, and I think it's kind of paradoxical that they are now trying to immortalize him
