Default Waiter in London gets $4000 tip.

Johnny Depp gives a waiter in London a $4000 tip to stay open till 2:30 am.
Eejit, now that the waiter disclosed the tip, what is the tax on that tip?

Nothing. Tips here = non taxable. ITs a gift.

Ad my biggest tip is on a £1,802 round of drinks and food ($3,000). He said round it up to £2,000 ($3,400). I did.

And i split it with the other 2 bar people who didnt serve him much, as im nice

Here, tips arent the same as there.

You guys buy a beer for $4, and give them $5 each time.

Here - they buy a beer for $4, and give us $4, or occasionally $4.50. Not often

I took £5,600 the other day in sales ($9k). In tips i made £30 ($50)

Big tips are always great, you always remember the person who gave it to you. It would be nice to meet Johnny at a restaurant, server or not.....

Johnny was on Letterman last night and it was extremely weird to say the least.

By the way, I absolutely hate Letterman, but I HATE Conan even more.

I miss Leno and I no longer watch any of the late shows (just happened to be flipping through and watched a little of the interview - Megan Fox was on after so it was a bonus).

man the UK... crazy things go on across the pond :-p. So thats actually pretty good relative to those standards, so i rescind my previous statement. I bartended for awhile, and all my old jobs, ya know my regular job type jobs,(resivoir dogs???) have all been in the restaurant industry, so im a tipper and then some. LIke the end of the night ill get a glass of water, and give the server the rest of the single or whatever i have for the night. In the states, seriously, some people, particular single moms and stuff, live off of those tips, i like to do my part. speaking of depp, i definately watched fear and loathin in las vegas, and remembered how good of a f in movie it was. I think u gotta be a certain kind of person to enjoy it, but if u are you freggin love it. Depp is the man.
