    Default Patience,Patience,Patience

I try to play a game of scrabble along with whatever tourney I'm playing in. That way I don't get bored and play a hand just to play. I'm busy doing something else too. I win more that way.

    Thats a good Ideia..
With scramble game do u play?I whant to try it also, practise my english.
I like listening to music also, play some computer games also...
    But the best would be have lots a pacience;
    Pacience will pay off.
Not only chossing pre-flop hands, but at all poker situations.

    Good plan.
I am easily amused, so patience is my virtue.

    That's a good idea!

I'm going to try that out and see what happens because I sometimes
have the same thing going on with me where I just keep getting in
dummy hands and try and play faster than the game.

I do listen to music but I sometimes wonder if that is a good and bad
thing depending on what type I listen to.

Sometimes, studying the players at the table (when I'm really focused!)
works just fine but I need to try this and see if I can find a balance.

Let me know your experiences guys!

By reading all your post, I am beginning to understand why you multi task while you are playing poker. Because practicing patients sucks it is easier to just have something else going on. Of coarse being new to the game I can hardly think anything aside of what I am supposed to be doing in the game that alone be doing something else.

There is a fine line here, I have found.
Early in the game it is good to multi-task.
Gets you through the first hour or 2 pretty easily.
I don't recommend multi-tasking when you get on the final table or you are close to cashing.
You need to focus intently on the other players.
If you don't do this and take advantage of every good situation, your odds for success greatly deminish.

I see, but like I said it will be a while before I do any of that. But these guys are surely able to do this. Since they are talking about playing scrabble. I think for me and poker the hardest part is figuring out the poker room and how everything works. I am sure it is just like anything. Once you know what you are doing it all comes together. Like driving and all the things you can't do at first but after a while become second nature. Eventually you don't remember doing it any other way. Practice and patients are necessary when playing poker.

I think it may be best for you to study the action and noticing what players are betting with and when. Also paying attention to showdowns and bluffs. If you are new to the game this is what will help you most.

Playing another game like scrabble is used to stay patient and not get our money in bad. I know the game enough to have this issue lol. But if you are working on your reads and skills, I would just pay attention to the game.

I guess I do kind of multi-task while playing poker, but I still find it hard to play well at more than one table at once. Klink can do a lot more than I can (5) but maybe I'll be able to play more at some point. I just feel like I can't devote as much attention to it and I'll inevitably miss something.

In multitabling you do lose a hell of a lot of EV for yourself, as your missing action, not noticing trends and reads and everything.

So if you play more than 2 tables, you need to rely solely on your own cards. Takes some of the skill out of it.
